Ok, who isn't doing anything on NYE?

I have a hockey game to go to at 8, but I'll be home and in my jammies in time to spend midnight with Dick Clark. On NYE, everything is overcrowded and overpriced, there's road blocks and checks everywhere, and there's bound to be morons out who don't drink any other night, but somehow think that on that night, they have the alcohol tolerance of Courtney Love. No thanks, I'll stay home!

DH and I have never gone out on NYE. Now that we have DD - we stay home and have a family night - tons of munchies, games, movies. Pretty quiet.

:wizard:

We never go any where. But we do have a tradition were we pig out on shrimp. We watch whoever is hosting the count down, and thats about it.

We never get to go out because DH has to stay home in case he needs to plow or sand the driveways of his customers. Someday I hope to move someplace where we don't have to think about snow or ice :sunny:

NYE has become a spa night at our house. The girls will get out the parafin hand thingy, paint nails, and do hair. We'll have appetizer type snacks most of the night and have sparkling grape juice. They get such a big kick out of it! We usually don't make it to midnight around here, though.

I've come to join the club. I will probably be in bed by the time they start to drop the ball. Hate the thought of driving home and not knowing if the car ahead, behind or next to you have been drinking or not.

This is me and my husband too. The friend's house we are going to is 5 minutes away at that. Around this area, you never know who or what is out and about on NYE.

We'll be staying home as well. Plan on a nice quiet evening. We aren't into big parties and just enjoy being home together.

We never go out on NYE. Too many drunk drivers on the road. Never did before kids and certainly not after kids. Its not worth the risk. We stay home. We have special appetizers that I always make on NYE. The kids if they make it until midnight have gingerale and dh and I have our Andre's Champagne. Its a cheapie champagne but its a tradition that stems from NYE's with my parents who are no longer with us.

We never go out on NYE. We have had neighbors over with their kids to play cards, but we don't do anything special. When I was single I used to go to a lot of NYE parties  , but I enjoy the family time a lot more.

We will be home as well. Its too cold to do any of the outdoor events for the evening and I always have a fear of drunk drivers on NYE. I usually get a yummy desert and champagne and we try to stay up to watch the ball drop. I do try to make a bean soup for New Years Day. Just a good luck tradition I learned as a young adult. I do hope 2006 brings good things to everyone.

I just bought petite lobster tails and ny steaks. I also got canned crab (gasp! I always buy fresh!) and wonton wrappers to make some sort of appetizer.

Looking forward to piggin' out!

We are walking next door to the neighbors - 8 adults and 8 kids. We make lots of food, play games and drink champagne. I don't like driving anywhere either. You never know who is out driving on the roads.

My husband is working all night so I'm sitting at home with the animals and will probably try to finish up King Kong on the 360. How's that for exciting?!?
