A couple of months ago, I planned a somewhat impromptu trip to WDW. I knew that United was in chapter 11 and I was pretty sure Delta was also. I usually fly Southwest out of Manchester, NH but after patiently waiting for the Feb/March schedule to open up I was sadly disappointed to see that the fares were very high. So, I turned to Travelocity and found a good fare on US Air. You can see where this is going. Shortly after I bought the tickets I realized that in fact US Air was also in Chapter 11. Now I see that a flight attendant strike for US Air is also a possibility. Is there any chance in ***** that we will be flying on US Air come late Feb/early March or am I going to have four worthless tickets? Worst case scenario would be US Air cannot reorganize and they liquidate right? But now I am concerned that even if they are able to emerge from Chapter 11 there may very well be a flight attendant strike. Needless to say I am very worried that I am now the proud owner of an $800 piece of paper. I would love to cancel and re-book on another airline but the tickets are nonrefundable so I am stuck with them. I did pay with a credit card though if that makes any difference (but it was a few months back). Anyone else worried about their US Air tix? Do you have a back-up plan? Do I just show up at the airport and hope for the best and bring a credit card?
