Just really really bummed at the new discounts...or rather lack of discounts. I was all set to anounce we were staying at my favorite resort and put all the indecision behind me. But alas...Disney can't play fair. So I am back to square one and feeling like the wind has been taken out of my sails a little
Hopefully I can get something figured out and get this PTR rolling again. Just not feelin it tonight

Oh no!!!! I was so excited for you all day yesterday, because I thought you got some pretty decent discounts? I am so sorry that you aren't feeling it.

I realize that where you stay is just as important as which parks you go to - but your favorite resort will be there next time... and hopefully with way bigger discounts. I am certain that Disney isn't going to release many good discounts over the next few years due to FLE.

Maybe we can plan a trip where we all stay there, or rent DVC points - or something, because that is a resort I've always wanted to stay at too.

Yep...looks that way. But September isn't an option this year. I actually like going in the summer because they are rarely doing a refurb on rides then, and there are no funky decorations. Pumpkins and trick or treating are for cool fall days here in New England. It just seems weird to be to be down there in the heat with fall decor up. Same goes for Christmas. Maybe some year, but for now, Christmas means snow. I like the plain old Disney and having nothing taking away from my favorite views.

I was excited because Sara said she would pay the difference, but it is a HUGE difference and it was a hard pill to swallow....thank goodness I choked it down

Since I have exactly 100 days til go....and I made some pretty major decisions today...I figured now would be a good time to do an update.

As you all must know, Disney released the late summer discounts to the general public today. I had been waiting and waiting for a room offer since we don't do the dining plan. Well, now we have one and I called Disney to have that applied to my reservation. I fully intended to just keep my preferred room at POR and be happy about it. It is a beautiful resort after all....but when I called to apply the discount to my room, the CM told me that there were no preferred rooms offered at the discount. I would have to go up to a river view, which was the same price. Well, at this resort, price wasn't an issue. I have to have the preferred view because that would guarantee we were in the Alligator Bayou section. We need the 3 beds and only AB offers that. He said I could request it, but it was not guaranteed. So I was looking at staying where I was and getting no discount, or moving.

Well of course...




If this is an option, I have to do it.

Yes, I changed to the Poly with the 20% off discount and paid it off right then and there so I couldn't make any other changes!

We had such an amazing time here last February and I can not wait to go back! With our touring plans, being able to hop back and forth between MK and Epcot on an almost daily basis is key. And with the August heat I am very happy to be able to use the monorail! Leaving the MK, we will be back at our room before most people will even get on a bus. Plus, who doesn't want to stay here???




I have heard that major changes are in the wind for my beloved Poly. These are expensive changes and I know I will not be able to stay here again. And with the new room decor that Tikiman has been posting, I just can't wait! When I made the reservation, the CM told me that they have listed that there could be some renovation going on in the main building from Aug - Oct. But I know the rooms will all be done by then. So as long as the restaurants are still operating (at least Captain Cooks and Kona) we will be fine. I hope the fountain in the lobby will be working, but that isn't a deal breaker. I will just keep my fingers crossed that this is another instance that Disney starts late and we won't be bothered.

I would love to post some pictures of the new rooms at the Poly, but I'm not sure Tikiman would like that and I learned my lesson from before. So if you all want to see the new gorgeous light green and white color scheme, go on tikimanpages and check it out.

I am going to try to keep this change a secret from Bradey until we get there, but who knows if I will be able to. He will be so excited! This is him from his first and only trip last Feb




See the castle and Space in the background? Just so relaxing to sit on the beach watching the monorail glide around the lagoon. yay! So excited!

I knew you'd end up back at the Poly.

I just took a peek at the new rooms. As much as I loved the old ones, the new ones really look beautiful.
