My daughter has a favorite pair of cut off jeans shorts and she wants to wear them in Disney around the parks, water parks -, etc... they are just plain jeans that she made into shorts... Does anyone think that this is appropriate for down there???? I have no problem but is it against Disney etiquette? Please help

Jorts are a fashion faux pas.

J/K

She'll be allowed in with no problem, but yeah, try advising her that jorts are a major fashion no-no.

Tell her to wear whatever she's comfortable and happy in! :thumbsup2 As far as I'm aware the only thing Disney doesn't allow is bikinis/swimsuits. Apart from that it's nobody's business but yours!

No, you're fine. When you say she wants to wear them around the water parks, do you mean she wants to swim in them? She won't be allowed to wear them on the water slides - you can't have metal bits on your suit, so I would assume jean shorts are right out. Otherwise, she won't have any problems. People wear all kinds of things at Disney!

Well, it depends on if it is before or after Memorial Day....

Or was that white shoes???

Just make sure your pics are taken waist up so she's not embarrassed later in life...:rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao:

No! Those are the BEST kind of photos! I love old photos like that and they always get us re-hashing memories. So snap away, even if you have to sneak it in

Let her wear what she's comfortable in. Kids buy jeans that come from the factory with holes. I don't think cut-offs (the term for us old timers;) )will ever draw a second look.

Back in the days when Disco ruled, I believe Disney DID have a dress code that did not include cut-offs, which are a whole different animal than Jorts. :)

Pretty OT, but your post reminds me of a story. Back in the late 60s my mom took a cross-country bus trip with a bunch of other teenagers. They went to Disneyland one day, and a friend of hers was wearing a pair of torn jeans. He actually got turned away from the gates because he didn't meet dress code, believe it or not! Guest relations gave him a pair of scissors and told him he could cut off the jeans into shorts. My mother and I still have no idea why they thought that cutoffs were nicer than ripped jeans.

Uh, if you're staying at YC/BC, I think SAB has restrictions on swimwear with metal fittings. If these are Levis or look-alikes, she's got rivets at the pockets -- a no-no on the plastic slides...

My daughter has store bought Jean shorts that are frayed with holes. I am sure your DD will look completely in place in her shorts!

She can wear them in the parks and water parks. However she cannot wear them in to water at the water parks.. bathing suits only for the actual water.

I agree! While they may not be in fashion for the older set, but they still are for teens & young adults..... even cut off jean skirts.

Can I ask what exactly is wrong with jean shorts? Everyone keeps joking they are a fashion faux paux.....since when? I wore them constantly as a kid and I"m now 28 yrs. old and still wear them. I never knew there was a time they were "out". I see people wearing them everywhere and in fact saw several on E and ET the other night as fashion "do's" so what's the problem exactly?
