I am working on narrowing down our list of ADR's for spring break. I made a bunch last fall & in an attempt to add in some places that we've never tried before I made one at the Plaza (thinking it looked reasonably priced) and then I made another one at Tony's (which we HAVE done before & liked but it's obviously a pricier option). We do not do the DP but will be getting the TIW card which can be used at either restaurant. I recently read a couple of comments about the Plaza being a little meh. Thoughts / experiences / opinions??? Should I cancel this one & keep Tony's or should we give it a whirl??? Does anybody out there LOVE  the Plaza??

I love the Plaza. Good burgers, sandwiches, fries, shakes and sundaes. It's nothing fancy, just basic food...some would say it's even just a slightly elevated CS restaurant. The small restaurant, the fact that some of the characters from Main Street (like the Mayor) stop in and interact with the guests and the great shakes are all things that keep me coming back.

That said, I tried LTT for lunch the first time a few weeks ago and that was fine too. I actually prefer the burgers and fries at the Plaza, but if you'd like something that's more like a dinner entree...the meals people around us got all looked great, and the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake was awesome!

I LOVE the plaza! Terrific burgers! and their fries, OMG they really are the best fries ever!! Soooo good. Its true that is a slight step above CS. its a lovely atmosphere, great prices, and delish food. Its a winner for me.

Tony's on the other hand, blah! its disgusting. I'd never go there again.

We love the Plaza. Never eaten at Tony's but can't beat the Plaza for a great, reasonably priced TS option to escape from the hustle and bustle of MK.

I've eaten lunch in both places. My lunch vote would go to the Plaza. The food was freshly made and very tastey. When we had lunch at Tony's the food had obviously been sitting under the heat lamp. The salad was warm and the salmon was dried out. I would eat lunch at the Plaza without a second thought.

We love The Plaza as well and echo what everyone else says. Step up from CS, good food, nice atmosphere. :thumbsup2

We love the Plaza and like to eat there once every trip. Tony's on the other hand, always wanted to eat there, finally did it one trip about 4 years ago, and do not care to ever go back. Food was poor Italian at best. It could have been so much better.

If you ever try to go as a walk-in to the Plaza, it is always booked and almost never a chance at getting in.

I LOVE the plaza. It's basic food cooked really well, and there's nothing with a really good burger or sandwhich.

Plus the desserts are heaven (I recommend the brownie sundae), the service is good, it's a pretty little restaurant with a good view of the castle, and a nice break from the crowds.

Give it a go, you won't know till you try :thumbsup2

our only trip was a bad experience. Food was fine - basically cs but hey. Service though was awful. Unknown to us we ate at 5.30pm and they were closing soon after for MNSSHP (which we had tickets for). At roughly 5.45pm all the staff disappeared to cash up. We had a terrible time trying to get a dessert (wouldn't have bothered if not on dxdp) and then had to wait almost an hour for our bill as they had shut down the tills and forgotten the last seven tables of guests :( not something we'll ever repeat but maybe just an off night.

I LOVE The Plaza! The food there is absolutely delicious and is a must do for my family every trip. The only slight downside is that the service can be a tad slow - it's fine for us though, since it allows us to rest for a while. My family usually shares a couple of entrees, then we each order our own dessert. It is plently of food and the chefs will normally cut the sandwiches for you and plate them separately if asked. I love the philly cheesesteak and the brownie sundae - my favorite! :cloud9:

Hummmm. I guess maybe I'll keep both ressies for now & maybe just see what we feel like eating when the day comes. I had wanted to cancel whatever we didn't want prior to going - it was not my plan to hog & hoard ressies. I WILL call & cancel whatever we don't want but maybe I need to go that morning & scope it out in person & look at the menu board etc. (I honestly can't even PICTURE the Plaza in my mind on Main Street.) We DID enjoy Tony's the other time we went there 2 years ago which is why I made a ressie there. But we can get a burger any time so not sure that's going to be a big draw for us. We have a lunch ressie another day at Via Napoli in Epcot so we do have another Italian meal planned (although we'll likely just order pizzas). If we're doing TS we like to eat different stuff than what we eat any day at home.
