First - My Grandparents 50th anniversary is coming up. What do you get to 76 year olds that have everything. I am looking to spend about $100

Second - We are having a super bowl party Sunday (GO BEARS!) does anyone have a good punch recipe?

Thanks you guys are the best!

My standby for "the older folks" who have everything is gift cards for dinners out. Do they have a few favorite places that they like to eat? My parents rarely ever ate out when I was young, but now it's so nice for them to not have to cook.

Or...how about a slideshow of pictures...then and now kind of thing. I haven't done one myself but I hear they are quite easy to do. Scan some pics, set it to music with some software (Photo Story 3) and you're set.

Grandparents: Do you have time to get together some old photos and have them put onto a DVD to music - I LOVE the sound "Remember When" from Alan Jackson and it makes me think of my grandparents every time I hear it...Have the tissue ready for  Some kind of a timeline - their wedding, their kids as kids, you guys as kids, family functions kind of stuff to see over the years.

Punch - 1 bottle Hawaiian Punch, 1 bottle Gingerale, Sherbert. Alcohol optional - Pour all into punch bowl, add scoops of sherbert (we use orange).

How about a nice dinner somewhere followed by a stay at a Bed and Breakfast. It was something my grandmother always wanted to do .

Along with the other excellent ideas you've received, how about finding out what "their song" was when they were dating & either find a recording of it, or teach it to the grandchildren to sing at their anniversary party. For my great grandparent's 50th anniversary party many years ago, my 3 brothers & I sang "their song", which was "Let the Rest of the World Go By". We were probably 12, 10, 6 & 4 at the time & the hit of the party.

I think the other Bears fans will make fun of you for serving punch. At least the ones I know! :rotfl2:

I know the ones at my house will be making fun of me but I'm used to that. I hate beer and when I do drink it takes me about 3 hours to finish one drink and that is about all I will drink for a night unless I'm feeling a little crazy then I will have 2 or 3. I hoping If I find something that doesn't taste like alcohol I'll be able to be a little crazy for the night! We'll have beer too!

My family is throwing my grandparents a huge party. They already have a cd with old pictures and memory photo album. I like the idea of having the greatgrandchildren sing thier wedding song. I will have to find out what that is and see if ds8 will actually do it. I have cousins that are my kids ages that will probably love to do it and dd4 will do it too. I will have to bribe ds with something special. Thank you for all the ideas keep them coming!
