posting about this but
something is wrong with my camera. i took it out to the zoo today and have been using the * button for focus since we had that thread about it awhile back and today it was not focusing with my 70-200 lens...same story, everything looks like it's fine but the shutter won't depress..so my guess is it's either coincidental that the focus started acting up when i started using the back button or something is wrong with that . last time i was using my 28-135 ( before i sent it back) i was using the * button , then when it messed up switched to the shutter and it still messed so when i changed lenses assumed it was that lens since it was ok again. today i had to turn the camera off then back on and it would focus for a while then do it again, i had to turn it off etc....but now it 's with this lens as well so something is up....hmmm, oh well monday they both get shipped off and hopefully that ends the problem but now i'm glad i stuck to my guns with the camera and didn't try just the lens first since whose to say they would have stuck to there word about replacing the camera if and when it acted up ( and I don't feel nearly as guilty about not taking just the lens..btw i also apologized to the canon guy for being a "mite" witchy, i told him it was my blood sugar plus a dose of frustration ..he said i really need to eat more small meals more often so guess i was as crabby as i thought i was
even though it's really the meds i'm on that do it, i got a chuckle about that )
