Ok, I know this sounds a little compulsive, but...

Hooray, I've found my people. Last night I showed my bemused DH my What to take in the Park list; clothes packing lists; camping packing list and overall checklist. He did not understand my delight. :flower:

We leave tomorrow and my lists are all that is keeping me sane. I'm so happy to know I'm not alone. My DH thinks I'm nuts. He couldn't believe I was downloading restaurant menus. :rolleyes1

Oh, you downloaded the restaurant menus too??? I thought I was the only one that did things like that. My family thought I was crazy!!

:rotfl:
about 50 days ago I made Disney reservations and since that day I've been making lists with 48 days still to go. Ya know what I even made a list of what rides "I" wanted to ride. I already made up itineraries for each day. Did the PSing. Printed out menus. But my grandmother is worse I feel. She already got her suitcase out and has a table desinated for Disney. I admit I haven't done that YET! (have trip to North Carolina in a week have to use suitcase) Anyway love lists!

Did you print the menus or down load them to a palm? I printed them in a 5 x7 format that fit into the packets I made for each family traveling with us (4 total) I think I'll need a palm for the next trip to keep up! LOL
Planning is half the fun!

I don't have a palm yet so I may be asking a dumb question but do the menu's take us too much room, do you need to be selective? and where do you get them? Deb's site?

Tonight I officially join Disney Listers Anonymous! :rotfl2:

Thanks to all of you for making my compulsive nature seem a bit more normal :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :rolleyes1

Also Thanks for providing some of your lists - WOW there are things I need to write on my lists :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I Had no idea when I started this post last night, how many of us listers are out there!! Happy Listing to all :cheer2:

Yes, Deb's site has them in palm pilot form. http://www.allearsnet.com/din/palmshop.htm
ETA- I don't know how much room they take up- I don't know much about my palm pilot, my dad gave me his old one when he got a lap-top and I haven't had time to do much with it.

HI, my name is karynnix, and I am a compulsive list maker. :wave2: My family laughs about my "clipboard of fun", but let's see how well they do without it!!

Exactly!!!!! :goodvibes

Also a Listaholic here! :)

My DH thinks I am obsessed - I AM! Glad to see I'm not the only one! My best list tip....

I put each kids entire outfits in ziplocs (shirt, shorts, hair tie, undies, etc.) I then make a list of what is in her suitcase.....

I am copying and pasting here......

Shoes:
 Sandals – 1 Pair Baby Blues, 1 Pair Soft Pink
 Flip-Flops – Turquoise & Green
 Runners

Other:
 2 Pairs PJ’s & 3 pairs Socks
 2 Goggles – Green & Red
 2 Bikinis – Turquoise & Green
 1 Long sleeved white top for pool
 3 Hats – 2 Visor, 1 Bucket
 Waffle Weave White Cardigan
 Body Glove Wet Suit
 Pool Toys/Blow-Ups/Snorkel & Mask

Outfits:
 Turquoise Shorts & White T
 White Short & Baby Blue T
 Purple Soccer Skort & Matching T
 Pink Skort Set with matching Cardigan and Dad T
 Lime Green Terry Capri & Jacket
 Dusty Rose Capri, Tank & Cardigan
 Blue Zip Pant, T and Cardigan

I pack a list inside the suitcase for security (just incase - so hopefully they won't tear apart my baggies) and that list serves as a "Do Not Forget" Checklist for when we leave. She takes the responsibility to make sure everything on that list is in her bag! We started this at 6 (with help) and it helps me out a great deal. As the "Crazy Mom" I of course have a master copy of all of them so I can recheck quickly again.

Obsessive, I know.......... :confused3

This is so funny!!! I didn't think I was too bad until I started reading this thread and going "Oh my..that's on my list too"

I don't have too much written down exactly (it's in the computer though - and one of the lists is to print out information before going!).

No wonder my DH just rolls his eyes at me!

I have things like also planning on the kid's outfits to match the character meal/park we are going to, etc... But first I need to GET those outfits. LOL!

I'm obviously obsessed but didn't think I was that bad! Just wanted everything to be perfect and not forget anything (I read on here a nightlight & thought that was great so have to remember to pack that, etc..). I haven't officially made my lists though, just mentally. LOL!

I was wondering if it was too early to get the suitcases out yet though and start putting "don't need it now" things in it. I had THOUGHT about it but figured April for the July trip was a bit much and I would wait until at least school was out.

It's never to early to pack. We go on June 27th and I've already got suitcases out and started putting little bits and pieces in them - we have suitecase corner in my bedroom :rotfl2: . And I've got the list on my computer that I check off everything we're taking. Laugh, stare, and roll your eyes all you want -it makes my vacation so much smoother if I don't have to worry about what I might have forgotten.

I've got them printed so I can "work" on them in the car during dh's football practice. Sadly, I've got price ranges listed on top of most of them from "the least we can buy and still feel fed" to "what we'd do if money were no object". I know, OCD :rolleyes1

:rotfl: I just got my suitcases lastnight and you can all guess what I'm going to be doing this weekend!!

If you contact my wife (Mary True) at thecruisesource.com she can send you our Disney travel check list. Included with that check list is a printable pre-trip check list. We put together a notebook with all of our checklists, maps, papers, and misc. stuff before we leave. Makes things very easy. We have 4 kids and i is easy o forget things. :earboy2:

I must have found my long lost family here....

We leave in 21 days and I already have a 3 ring binder bulging with info (I plan on removing stuff before we leave). I would be paking if I wasn't pregnant and waiting for my DH to get the suitcases out! Instead I just have piles in the basement with lists on top of what's in the piles. I have never done the outfits in ziploc bags before, but I think I will this time since the kids are dressing themsleves now.

I have a hard time believing people just show up at WDW and think what should we do today? WHat rides do we want to go on? Half the fun is in the planning. My SIL and BIL came with us last trip and couldn't figure out why I wanted to make PS's. We had 5 kids between us and 4 adults. DO they really want to wait hours for a table? They are going next week. We'll see how it goes for them...

This is exactly what my husband thought we could do- he was planning on surprising me with the trip, and telling me the day before we left. Neither of us have been to WDW since we were 12, and we only went once, so he didn't know what to expect. I had also never heard of the disboards then... Needless to say, I found out (the man can't surprise me, I always find out!) and took over the planning. In his defense, we have both been going non-stop for the past three years and are ehxausted- he just wanted to get down there and do whatever we felt like, just to be able to relax with no pressures. I have done a LOT of planning, but I tried to keep our itinerary somewhat loose (he doesn't agree :rotfl: ) but I like to think of it as being set at a "leisurely pace with goals..." :teeth: I am already working on next years vacation, and I am thinking of doing a cruise with no plans once we are onboard so we can truly relax, especially if we have that new little addition we've been hoping for! Of course we'll start that vacation off with a mini trip to WDW!!!

I agree I'm not a crazy planner. we know which park we will go to and take care of PS's. This is also my first trip after finding the DIS boards. Although the first trip we had the UG. All I know is we wanted to try the MK again on our last day (a Sat). We walked in and didn't get to the castle before we turned around, headed to the airport, and got on an earlier flight. I learned my lesson!

I do this too. Except I have soccer! My husband thinks I am NUTS!!!!

I have a list of what to pack. It is 8 pages long, 3 columns wide with a 10 pt font. A lot of stuff! I do not take everything, and it is for any trip we take. I delete items from it, depending on where we are going. But keep my master list (with everything and anything) on the computer. I also make list of what to do before we go, what & where to buy what I need, what food to take with us, and a grocery list for when we get there, etc. The list of lists goes on, and on, and on, and on ......

Hello, my name is Ruth and I have a problem, I am a "list-oholic."

I make a copy of my packing list and check everything off as I am packing to come home. Don't want to leave anything behind! :grouphug:

OMG started the same thing too. Why is it always in Mom's and Dad's bedroom though! The least I have to think about as it gets closer, the better for all of us :rotfl:
