Please tell me everything you know & share your pictures of AKL concierge. This is my 32 y.o. b/f's pirate: first trip to WDW (and first plane ride!).

What kind of food/adult beverages/views etc. did you have?

We're flying in on the 10th of Sept. Staying away from parks on day 1 so I chose AKL club level/concierge because we are both "food/wine people" and plan to have dinner at Jiko and relax around the resort. The next day we move over to the Dolphin (because we want to be able to walk to Epcot a lot) and start the "parks" part.

But I've never stayed AKL concierge before. Always wanted to! This is very exciting.

That is so awesome. You will love it. We did. I tried to book AKL concierge for our Dec '08 trip several times and there is no availability. We enjoyed grabbing a glass of wine in the eve or coffee in the morning from the lounge and taking it back to our room so we could sit on the balcony watching the animals. The firepit storytelling at night is great. And there are the 2 special safaris open to only AKL concierge guests. Have a GREAT time!!!

Thanks! I can't wait!

I just saw a picture of some sort of chocolate covered zebra striped strawberries? Did they have those when you were there? They look sooo good. :)

Sounds like it will be perfect for you. The wines are good and so are the special juices. Have a great time. I know you are excited!!!

DisneyWorld, I don't remember chocolate covered strawberries. They do sound yummy. They did have the famous zebra domes. Maybe someone who has stayed there recently can comment on the desserts. Our last stay at AKL was 2 years ago.

Hope yopu enjoy it, let us know?

Congrats! You made a wonderful choice, I think:thumbsup2 That is where my family and I are booked for our summer 08 vacation! We can't wait:yay: :yay: We were torn between the Poly and AKL and of course the AKL stole our:lovestruc in the end. FYI: The concierge staff at AKL is AWESOME! They will help you with whatever you need:thumbsup2 Again, good choice and have a wonderful vacation:wizard:

We are booked there for 4 nights and 5 days in Oct....cannot wait!

we are booked at AKL CLUB LEVEL for 5 nights in dec 08......we cant wait, we have never stayed club level before but we got a cant pass up price so we went for it! I have heard LOTS of good things about the AKL club level.

I am curious to know also about the concierge floor. What type of offerings does it have?

What views do the concierge rooms have? Is it true that the reg. concierge rooms are on a different floor than the lounge? Was this a problem?

All the club level rooms are savannah view and are located on the 4th floor. The lounge is located on the 6th floor overlooking the lobby. You have to take the elevator up to the lounge--no problem for us. :goodvibes

we'll be there then... also AKL CL arriving on the 9th.

The concierge staff have already been great help for us with ADRs etc!

In the morning there’s a continental breakfast of juice, danish pastry, muffins, bagels, croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal. Later you’ll find afternoon beverages and snacks of nuts, pita chips, goldfish crackers, and gummy bears, with the addition of scones, brownies and cookies at tea time.

In the evening there is South African wine and beer as well as cold hors d’oeuvres, and hot items from Boma, including such goodies as veggie wraps, Moroccan meatballs, couscous-filled phyllo, black-eyed pea salad, scallops with sun-dried tomato chutney, assorted cheeses, hummus, beef satay, skewered nut-crusted salmon, and barbecue pork. Kids enjoy PB&J sandwiches and chicken strips. After-dinner treats include cookies, chocolates, minitarts, Rice Krispies Treats, cordials, and sometimes zebra domes (ganache-covered chocolate-coffee mousse) from Boma. Lemonade, iced tea, and sodas are available throughout the day. The Lounge has the best self-service espresso and cappuccino machine.:woohoo:

Be sure to do the Sunrise Safari. It's very cool to go early, most of the animals are out and the breakfast afterwards was very nice.

Thanks for this thread! I just booked 9 days (over Thanksgiving) at AKL, and it will be my first time experiencing this resort as well as my first time using concierge level services.

I tend to be "hands on" with my planning, ADR's, etc. Is there any advantage to using the staff for this other than emergency or last minute preparations?
