OK another meal question?

Which one would you choose?

Hoop-dee-doo or Mickey's Backyard BBQ

When we go our eldest who pretends to be 'older and wiser' than he actually is will be 14 and our youngest who loves good old fashioned slapstick will be 11. Any advice please.

I cant comment on the Hoop-Dee-Doo, but my hubby and I went to the Backstage BBQ and it was fab - and we have no children - but we still had a great time, would really recommend - Have fun whichever you choose ....

Hi, This is my first post, so sorry for any errors!
My family and I went to see Hoop de do Revue in 1997 (the night Princess Di died). It was very colourful! A lot of audience participation - you're given you're own 'washboard' to strum!! Food was a bit basic, from what I can remember. If you're at all shy - stay clear (my husband was squirming a bit!), but if you like a lively, sing a long type of event, you'll love it!

It's a while ago (1998) but my family found the Backyard BBQ boring (we're not into line dancing). Lots of people do enjoy though - just not us. I've not done the Hoop-de-doo so I can't compare the two.

We have done the backyard BBQ, we loved it.

The characters were out quite a bit, dancing with the kids. the drinks flow freely, and the characters came out with the large cakes (desert), we would do it again.

We also got a photo pack, with keyring and fridge magnet, can not remember the price.

It also brought back memories from River Country.

I posted this same question on an american thread and got a unanimous "gotta doo the Hoop de Doo". The implication was the Mickey's Backyard Barbecue is a bit dull, with far less character interaction than you would expect at one of the restaurants.

Having said that, I have booked the Hoop de Doo but I'm concerned that it might be a bit cringy!
