OIA Express pickup overcharged me parking...

We were late in picking up DH yesterday at the airport.

We parked at Express pick-up and you can only use that if you have a sunpass/e-pass transponder...which we do.

Fee is $1 per half hour , we did have a quick lunch while we were there. My e-mail today shows they charged me FIFTY-FOUR DOLLARS.


I double checked OIA's website and indeed, I have the fees right. I have no idea how they came up with me being there for 12 hours.

The time they have me entering is 12:03:41 pm.

The next time they show is 11:59:59pm and there is no way that I was there until almost midnight.

I didn't move the transponder in my car, it didn't beep when we left, but the gate did lift when we left.

Grumble Grumble.

Have to wait until Monday to fix it as I don't think Sunpass is open on the weekend.

Sounds like it did not register when you left. As a result they automatically charged you for the remainder of the day. Call them and dispute it, and good luck.

Shouldn't be a problem--I had to drive through a toll on 528 on the way home and certainly my van cannot do that if still in the garage.
