We have a dinner reservation @ Ohana's for 5:40. We are 5 Adults and 3 Children. I have read that this buffet is served "Family Style". What if you want more of something. Can you just ask the waiter? Is there an extra charge?:confused3

The server will keep coming back by usually with a skewer of meat, but if you ask, they will bring more of everything, ie. salad, dessert (yummy bread pudding with bananas foster sauce), the appetizers, you name it, it's all you care to eat! Enjoy, I will be next week!

Like the previous poster stated, they bring out skewers of the meat. The salad, wings... are brought out family style. You can have as much as you want. The children are also able to order chicken fingers and other such items if they like but you still pay the 'Ohana children's price.

Is this included in my original price or an additional cost?

We just ate there two weeks ago, and we think, our opinion only, that this is one of the best meals on property for the money. The service was great too!

If you can find the sub-par wait staff, you can ask them for more.

Then, when they 'forget' to bring it, you can ask them again.

Then, after you still have not gotten your food, you can ask them again when the busboy comes to take your empty plates away.

I'm the dessenting view here, but we find Ohana service to be terrible. I just could not resist replying! :lmao:

I've never been a big fan of bread pudding. However, when I took my first bite of the Ohana bread pudding, especially with a heavy coating of the bananas fosters sauce, it was like an OH MY GOD moment. It's that good. That meal was the only place I over-ate because I had three servings of the dessert (I was already full before the dessert came).

So, SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT!!

Well said! This is our only MUST every trip and we find ourselves talking about it when we're home. You will enjoy yourselves!

Been dining there since '99 and have never had a bad experience. One trip DH was not feeling well as the meal drew to a close (it was also his birthday). Our server insisted on packing up his birthday cupcake and also an extra pineapple and caramel (can you tell how long ago that was?) for me to take back to our room at the Poly. Our servers have always been attentive, but we also tend to dine early, before the mad rush to see Wishes and such. Don't know if that has anything to do with it though.

This depends on your server, in my experience. We ate here when 2 of my DDs were small, and we knew they would not eat all those meats from the skewers or the shrimp. We asked our server about burgers or chicken, and explained that they would probably still eat the side dishes, so expected to pay full price. But we were not charged for a full children's Ohana meal, just the cost of the burgers. I don't think this happens all the time, but that's what happened to us.

Actually, the "busboy" whose real title is server assistant is responsible for bringing the hot dishes from the kitchen to the table. Your invisible server is probably running to Kona for the kid's food that everyone on this board says that she can serve or trying to split a check 15 different ways, waiting for drinks at the service bar, looking for A1 sauce, or hunting down birthday candles to accomodate a guest request. Admittedly, there are a couple of bad servers at Ohana, but most of them run their butts off and try their best to keep their guests happy.

We were at Ohana the first week of December. Everything was FABULOUS! Food...Service...Ambience. We were offered more of everything several times and the waitress had no problem bringing chicken fingers and fries for my DD's. DM and DFIL loved the shrimp! We must have had at least 4 servings of that!. and the bread pudding was to die for. You'll love it.
