For those of you who have recently dined at Ohana's at the Polynesian, what do they serve for breakfast? Do you have a selection, or is it just brought to your table? Also, how is it served; pre-plated or family style? Finally, what beverage choices are there? Is the delicious Kona coffee served there?

Thanks!
~Simon :)

It is served family style, I cant remember what was served though. I know there was fruit and maybe mickey waffles. We enjoyed stitch far more than the food, lol.

The food is brought to your table family style and you can ask for seconds (or thirds ;) ) of anything-or everything. Not sure what type of coffee was served yet it was not pressed pots like at Kona. Here is what I wrote in my Review:

Breakfast was yummy! Everything was so fresh and hot. They first bring out coffee, tea or milk and a refreshing & yummy tropical juice and two kinds of warm bread (one pineapple) with whipped butter. Then came the "skillet" with scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon & sausage-all cooked perfectly!-and Mickey waffles and warm buttermilk biscuits. Also served is a fruit plate-sweet and delish! A great way to start a day in Disney!

Sounds like a great place! I'm going to make reservations for our next trip! Any more insight would be helpful. :)

This is one of our favorite meals. Since I am a huge Stitch fan - I particularly like this meal. Not much more to tell about the food.

The juice served is awesome -- my kids go through carafes of this stuff -- it is called POG (papaya, orange and guava - I think) -- very tasty and I am not a juice drinker at all.

The fresh fruit is my favorite -- I think it is possibly the best pineapple I have ever tasted. Bring wet ones if you are going to have the bread as it is quite sticky.

With Mickey, Lilo & Stitch - this is a great experience. We got "leid" this year as it was DH's birthday - he even got kissed by Lilo.

We love the food. My kids also drank the juice like there was no tommorow. We acually are going back on the 18th of feb instead of trying a another breakeast with the charcters.

Yummy, we did love this breakfast meal better than the buffet we ate at Restaurantasaurus. It was nice having all brought to you. We had plenty to eat and I loved the potatoes. It's been a little over a year since we went but I do remember the atmosphere was wonderful. I didn't find it too loud. The character interaction was great and the kids get to parade around the restaurant with the characters shaking maracas. (I think that only happened once while we were there, so it doesn't happen continually). My three dd's liked it a lot.

In November, we had:

-the juice blend. Very tasty.
-fresh fruit- pineapple, oranges, grapes, melon, berries.
-DD asked for, and got, milk to drink.
-I asked for, and got, iced tea to drink.
-basket of pineapple bread and cinnamon buns
-family style service skillet containing scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, pan fried potato wedges, and Mickey waffles.

Sorry, I can't help with the coffee- I don't drink the stuff. There were other diners at the table next to us that also asked for, and got, cold cereal and yogurt.

Has anyone ever asked for something to be omitted?

I ate here with friends in 2006 and it was really good. I was thinking of returning in 2009 on my solo trip. Since it is just me I know I wont eat the sausage or the potatoes or the cin roll and don't want to waste. Do you know if they will remove certain items from the skillet/bread basket if you ask?

Yes, we have asked for omissions. My nephew is allergic to eggs and they brought out an egg-free skillet, no problem. They also brought my nephew eggless waffles, which I thought was a nice touch.

The sticky cinnamon bread is in its own basket so you can just let them know that you don't want it. They are very accommodating there, in my experience.

Ohana's sounds like a great restaurant! I'm glad that there are so many choices and that you are able to have them omit items. :)

I've had them separate the Meat (allergys) from the eggs on the plater--I can eat eggs but not the meat. We've eaten there 2 times and its been great both times!
The only thing last time that was different was DS wanted Mickey Waffles and we had to ask for them,
they didn't automaticly bring them out like they did on our 2006 visit.
I'm not sure if the server forgot or unless you have to ask for them?
The coffee was very good, it taste much better than the coffee served at other resorts.
I always have a couple of cups.

This is a must breakfast for us. We went in December for our 5 time. It was just as good. You start with pineapple bread and cinnamon rolls then fruit (watermelon, grapes, pineapple). Then they brought out the skillet with eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes. The mickey waffles now come out separately by one of the servers and are placed on each person's plate. Don't be shy and ask for 2 or 3 up front. Also we had juice and coffee. It's fresh brewed coffee but it's not the french pressed like at Kona Cafe. Also my mom did get iced tea.
