We just returned from our week at disney!

We didn't have ADR for O'Hana but dh decided he would like to eat there..since we passed it every morning for the monorail trip.

I went to concierge and they were able to get me a 6:30 seating! We arrived at 6:20 and were seated at 6:40. We had the best time. The kids loved the coconut race, pluse we were the 50th table seated that night, so we were the honorary family! We got to hold the limbo pole and parade around with the kids.

The food was great! service was great! thos potatoes are so yummy. Best meal we had. Definitely a place to visit!

I agree! Ohana was our favorite meal this past October. The kids loved it, and DH and I LOVED the food. This is a must-do every trip!

We were there week before last and we LOVED O'hana's. It was our first time there and we all enjoyed it. My only negative was the hostess talked a little too much, but there was a wedding rehearsal dinner going on and she was doing extra stuff with them, so I am giving her the benefit of the doubt. :) The food and atmosphere were wonderful and the bread pudding was probably the best dessert I have ever had (I wanted to lick my plate!)! Our other favorites of the meal were the potatoes, the grilled bbq pork and the shrimp appetizer.

Thanks for the review!! I am most looking forward to this meal at our May visit!! Glad to hear you enjoyed it!! :)

When you go in May, definitely try this drink the Lapu Lapu. My neighbor and I still talk about it. It is a punchy drink served in a bored out pineapply topped with fruit and an umbrella. After a long day walking around the parks it is such a fun thing to top off the day. You really get the feel of being on this tropical vacation while sipping it. It's a really good drink! Have fun!

Though we are going to Universal in a few weeks we did book Ohana for dinner one of the nights. My DFather wants Disney fireworks but since watching Ellen he wants to visit Universal. I'm glad so many people seem to be enjoying Ohana. DD12 and I haven't been there since they change things in Sept(it was always our must-do dinner) going to miss the caramel and pineapple and the warm pineapple/coconut bread to start. But since my parents have never been I'm sure they will enjoy. Especially the view of the castle. ADRs are at 8:45, Wishes begin at 10pm. We will patiently wait for a window table.

My DW2B & I eat there(breakfast) & the food is yummy!!! the characters were cool & we took pics w/ : :mickeyjum pluto: :stitch:

I agree! O'hana's is my absolute favorite disney restaurant. There's no other place like it around here.

It figures on my list of ADR's booked for our upcoming trip. Although youngest DD is quite picky and we usually choose our restuarants based on what she likes, this is a non-negotiable choice. She'll have to eat nuggets while we pig out.

o.k., can you here my stomach grumble?

How was the corned beef and cabbage? LOL...

Glad to hear good reviews for Ohana's. We have ressies for Monday night. We are approxiamately 29 miles from Orlando now. I can't wait!!

I was just lookin at the menu for O'hana on the internet and it only listed one dessert. Is this the case? What if you don't like bread and butter pudding? :guilty:

The desert is actually bread pudding served with vanilla ice cream and a bananas foster sauce that is fabu-tastic. If you don't like bread pudding, try the ice cream with the bananas foster by itself.

Prior to a few months ago, desert at 'Ohana (apostrophe first, no S at the end - 'Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets to leave hungry!) consisted of fresh pineapple slices with caramel dipping sauce. Since the new desert premiered, there have been reports of people still getting the old desert on request, so if you don't like the new desert you can ask for the old one.

Oh my, I loved the Lapu Lapu's too! DH and I each had two, rode the monorail over to MK afterwards and the rest of the evening is a blur. What can be better than drinking one of those while gazing at the castle and eating all that yummy food?

Does anyone know if you can still order other desserts (for an extra price) as well?

The last time we were there DD and DS both loved the shaved ice in the beach bucket.

Good question. The current dessert would not interest the four of us.

Also, if you use the dining plan, why is the dessert limited? Are there any other limits on using the dining plan?

Thanks.

DeeCee, I think the corn beef and cabbage was removed from the menu, some irish pub, huh? ... But those Polynesian style potatos are sure great! :lmao:

We loved 'Ohana when we ate there in September. For those of you who are bread pudding "skeptics", I have to say, just give it a taste! I'm not into bread pudding at all, but this dessert was absolutely the BEST!! I made a pig of myself, but I grabbed the last little bit in the bowl before the rest of our table of 11 could get it... :lmao: Mmmmm...I could eat some right now!! :)
