Ohana Review Retraction

Yeah, and I don't like mushrooms in my food. :confused3 Every restaurant simply cannot cater to everyone's food dislikes and likes.

And a good majority of people like pasta in one way or another.

Look, what I gave was just speculation, just an opinion. I didn't say at all that they had to cater to anyone, I was just giving an opinion as to why people might be upset about it. Relax.

You've clearly been bothered by all of the 'Ohana menu changes related threads, so maybe you should just steer clear of them.

I don't like mushrooms either. :scared:

OT, but this is a link to a thread that was posted the last time Ohana changed it's menu, http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=904793, when everyone was complaining about potatoes and bread pudding being added to the menu.

Disney can't please everyone 100% of the time. Well maybe they could if there are people who will eat anything, but I'm sure 99.9% of people don't like at least one or two foods. For me, it's mushrooms, and "weird" stuff like sweet breads, (which I have tried,) but I don't get upset when restaurants change menus, it's just how restaurants are.

And we're talking about a restaurant like Ohana, where the menu only changes once every few years. Think of restaurants like CA Grill where the menu changes weekly or daily.

Also, the changes in the menu are what caused me to plan Ohana again for my next trip. Before I knew the menu would be different, I planned on a different resataurant, but then I heard of the menu changes, and added Ohana back into my plans.

I'm just skimming through that link you posted now. :lmao: It does sound a lot like what's going on right now. I'm sure things will settle down soon - just like the chicken strips drama did. You're right, it's not going to please everyone no matter what they do. I'm just personally not happy with it - but there's equally as many people who are excited about the change and I am happy for them. 'Ohana is a wonderful place. :thumbsup2

It's like de ja vuj (sp?) What I think is really funny and ironic, is that people are complaining about the potatoes and bread pudding being taken off the menu, when before they were complaining about them being added to the menu. :lmao:

I have an adr in May.I did like the potatoes and not thewontons. But I am looking forward to the change. I do not like bread pudding so I asked for the pineapple which they brought and it was YUMMY, so I would love if they brought that back.

Just ate there Monday night and they did have the (YUMMY) bread pudding, but not the wontons or potatoes.

Please say it ain't so!!! :sad2: O'Hana's was our very favorite place. The first time we went we didn't like it but last August it was AWESOME!! :thumbsup2 We loved everything on the menu especially the bread pudding! Does anybody know for sure??

I understand why people might not like it. I've simply been telling them to not act irrationally and go about canceling all their 'Ohanas ADRs. There's really not point in retracting praise for the good times you've had at a restaurant, just because they changed their menu. Especially since you haven't even tried the menu changes. (You as in OP, not you as in you.)

And I was just about to search around for one of those threads. Like I've said before, some people can just never be happy. :sad2: Eventually people will learn to love these changes, and in a couple years when they switch up the menu again there will be at least 5 threads complaining about it and praying for the old items to come back.

I totally agree with you. I guess it means I'll have an easy time getting an ADR there though. ;)

CG changes their menu frequently, but I still have a choice of 6-7 entrees, appies, etc.

'Ohana changes their menu and I get no choice. That is the big deal between the 2.

I have been boycotting 'Ohana going on 2 years. The primary reason was really really bad service, multiple trips. Plus the food changes (primarily turning the shrimp from those great yummy ones to the peel 'n eat:scared: ). The current changes are not interesting to me and there are way too many other places I really like to go back.

That's the thing. Choices, I may not like, you may, isn't that a great thing?

Thats good news. I would pay :thumbsup2 25.00 just for the Bread Pudding!!!

I'm with ya on this one!! I would go for the bread pudding alone!! Yummy!!! I don't mind the disappearance of the wontons, but my family and I love the potatoes and pudding. We do like pasta, but do not eat meats/rice/pasta with fruit and nuts in it.....oh well.....maybe they will change it again by the time I am ready for a meal at O'Hana.

You keep telling everyone who states they don't like the new menu to just try it first. Would you like to pay for my meal at O'hana so I can try what I know does not sound appetizing to me? Because I only have a certain number of TS credits, and there are many many restaurants out there that I haven't tried that actually have menus that sound good to me. Why would I waste a ts credit on a restaurant with a menu that doesn't appeal to me?

With all the fuss I see going on I am sure they will change it pretty quickly.

But there was this much fuss when the potatoes were added to the menu, and it didn't change for a few years.

We had an ADR (which was called a PS back then) in October 2005. They changed the green beans for some other veggies and switched the rice for potatoes, put the shrimp in a bowl and put sausage on a skewer. At least I think that's how it went.

I cancelled our ADR. The things that appealed to me about 'Ohana were the things they took away!

Now the menu is swinging back around to things that have more appeal to me, so we MIGHT actually go there now. We went there for breakfast in December and found it to be HORIBLY overpriced, but that's another thread.;)

Are we positive they are taking away the bread pudding? If so what are they replacing it with?
