Ohana reservation help!!!!

My husband and I are going to MK on 9/10/13 - the day of the 1st MNSSHP of the season. Originally we decided to not go to the party (we have been to it before with the kids) and eat at Ohana then go out to the beach to watch the Electrical Water Pageant and the MNSSHP fireworks from there. I got a 6:50pm ADR at Ohana to try to maximize our time in MK that day before you have to leave for the night.

Well, NOW Jack and Sally will be at the MNSSHP and both the hubby and I LOVE them. So now we want to go to the party. I really wish Disney had released that information way before today!!!! I checked and that date still has tickets available for the party. Great! I have called Disney dining twice today and they can not get me an earlier reservation at Ohana! We are so bummed!! I know it's a popular restaurant but I'm kind of upset they can't fit 2 people earlier in the evening so that we can spend the $$ for the MNSSHP tickets. I am not going to buy the party tickets if I can't know for sure we can be back in the park before fireworks go off at 9:30pm. I know we could be back in time for the 2nd parade at 10:30pm, but I don't want to chance missing the fireworks while in transit. Any suggestions? Keep calling everyday to see if someone cancelled? Is there a phone number for me to call Ohana directly?

I would keep checking daily. Also check the thread for people that cancel September ADR(a few down from your post) I don't really think the party will sell out so you should be fine with that, but just keep check you never know when you will get some

Don't call, just keep checking the website. I'm waiting for an Ohana to open up in October and am checking several times every day. Don't give up, people cancel every day.

As weird as this is going to sound try checking in the wee hours of the morning like 3 AM. I have been trying for awhile to get Ohana at a better time than 9:10 PM. I couldn't sleep last night and I checked about 3 AM and lo and behold a 7:45 PM was available. This is the second time I have had this happen with Ohana.

I have also checked on line in the early hrs hoping to get a better time for ohanas right now I have a 8:15 time. Im also trying for BOG, if not ill keep my plans for lunch there.

I say get tickets for the party. Keep trying to get an earlier dinner at 'Ohana (or maybe do 'Ohana another day?). Worst case scenario, keep your 'Ohana reservation and show up really early to check in. If you get there around 6, chances are you'll be seated within 30 minutes or so. Even if you spend an hour and a half/two hours at dinner, you'll still be out of there and on your way to MK by 8/8:30. Just tell your server you're trying to make it to the fireworks, and they'll speed things along for you. No worries!
