Which would you recommend, Breakhast at Ohana or Breakfast at Tusker House? We will be staying at CBR, so Monorail access is not a factor. We plan plan on going to Animal Kingdom one day but are wanting to know which everyone would prefer. Thanks!

We love Ohana for Breakfast & the best part it's served family style so no dealing with buffet lines . So if I had to pick one I would pick Ohana , however we have never done The Safari Breakfast w/ Donald and are doing so this trip so If you could fit in both I would . Have a great trip & good luck with your decision princess:

We've done both - we would choose Ohana. Ohana is one of our favorite breakfast adrs. It's a relaxed breakfast with a polynesian feel to it & it's nice because it's served to you instead of the standard buffet-style. The character interaction was great! - they all spent plenty of time with us & Pluto & Stitch were hilarious. Needless to say, we're looking forward to another breakfast at Ohana this Sept.

Tusker House is ok - it's not bad, but we didn't care for the atmosphere: noisy & cramped seating. We've had the worst character interaction at Tusker House - very rushed & lucky to get 10 seconds with a character. The food at Tusker House is very good - nice selection on their buffet.

We've done both. I loved the Tusker house!! We are going back in June. I believe we were there for several hours. The characters came around several times. My kids loved dancing and going around the restaurant. We also thought the food was amazing. They had probably the best breakfast at Disney:)

Another vote for O'hana. We loved it and have gone back a few times. It is probably the one place that we all agree on.

Thanks,

We're leaning towards Tusker House because it is in Animal Kingdomand that way we would have more time in the park, we will go back to the resort in the afternoon because we will be in there in August. I seen other posts saying that 8 o'clock is th best time because of the proximity to the safari. However with DS (2) 9:30 might be a little better (if available). Would the line be too long for the safari if we waited till then?

Never done the Donald Breakfast...but Ohana was our best meal start to finish of our whole trip in 07'. When I first asked where everone wanted to go that was #1. The food was plentful and yummy. My kids loved Lilo & Stitch and watching them were awesome. HTH

Tusker House - exacty to get to the park early!
8 am ressies were perfect- but that was in jan - low crowds.
I would always try to get opening ressies.

Have fun!

If you are doing Tusker house after opening then you might want to think about going on a PM EMH day. We had Tusker House booked for 10:15 AM. The park is to be open 9 -5 the day we were to go. We figured out that with travel and wait times we'd lose about 2 hrs (possibly more) out of a short 8 hour park day for a meal. And by the time we got done just about noon time, all the FP for EE KaliRR and the Safaris would probably be gone which would mean possibly not riding these rides or spending half the day in line to ride just these rides :scared1: . Especially after factoring in the recently upgraded crowd predictions for May we decided to switch for a dinner ADR at WCC (DH choice I wanted 'Ohana  ).

PS - I tried dozens of times for an earlier ADR and couldn't get one at ANY time for that day but for 'Ohana the same day and the day before and the day after there were multiple openings for any group size. So you might have this as a back up. You can get an ADR there really early and still get in a whole day at AK.

We will be trying for Donald's Safari Breakfast and Chef Mickey's for September. I have DSB scheduled for later in the trip but CM's is at just the 90+4 day for us :scared1:. Since we will be going to 'Ohana for dinner later, 'Ohana for breakfast is only a back up. But I think I'll be ok for CM's since I really don't care about the time as long as it's after 9AM for breakfast.

We've done both -- and prefer Tusker House. We had an 8:10am ADR before AK park opening at 9am. It was great to have our breakfast with characters and then get right into the park. As soon as we exited, Baloo and King Louie were right there for meet & greet, plus you are right there at the Safari ride. The buffet was good, great selection of hot/cold breakfast items. The decor is filled with animal pictures, dark wood table and chairs. The characters interaction was wonderful, and they did a parade every 10-15 minutes. They pass out instruments for the kids to bang on and shake. Daisy Duck grabbed my DS6 and lead him around for the parade. The characters are dressed in safari clothes and hats.

We also went to Ohana which I thought was just OK. I did not care much for the food, mostly because it was such a slim selection of foods (I prefer a buffet). If you like Stitch, Lilo, Mickey and Pluto, they are dressed in Hawaiian clothes. They also do a parade with instruments.

I think you just need to decide which characters your family likes, also if you want the 8am ADR inside the park.

My family enjoys O'hana for breakfast. The food is good (by Disney standards) and the character interaction is first rate. Along with the Crystal Palace Breakfast, these are our favorite two for morning meals.

:goodvibes :goodvibes

We did both meals on our January trip, and thoroughly enjoyed each.

Top honours went to Ohana, however, for the following reasons:

- Superior character interaction (Pluto at Ohana was hysterical)
- More relaxing to be served family-style than serve-yourself at a standard buffet
- We preferred the atmosphere at the Poly to that at Tusker House
- Service was top-notch

Now, that's not to say the character interaction, food or otherwise was not satisfactory at Donald's Safari breakfast. We just found it was better at Ohana. And definitely, Donald's has WAY more different types of food to choose from (so if you're looking for variety, this one should be your choice). And its great to be at AK for an ADR before the park even opens, and be one of the first on the rides when you're done!!

I would decide what characters you would like to see, and factor that in as well. Ohana has Lilo, Stitch, Mikey and Pluto. Donald's has Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy.

Both tons of fun!! :thumbsup2 Enjoy your trip :) .

Great pics!!

I have a silly question since I didn't even know you could do it---how do the early ressies work if the park is still closed??

How do you get in?

I think this would be awesome!!

We did both when we were there last month. Both had good food and good character interaction. I would pick Tusker House if you can get an 8 am ADR. We had an 8 am ADR and were way ahead of the crowds getting to Safari for fastpasses. We then headed to Dinoland and were the only ones there.

We had a HORRIBLE Ohana experience in October. Worst character meal we have attended EVER and we have been to a lot.

-We waited 30 minutes past our ADR time to sit down. We were 15 minutes early checking in, so 45 min wait for breakfast with an ADR which I thought was excessive.
-We had horrible service. Took 10 minutes to get our juice and forget about a refill. Every time the waffle guy walked by us, he was out of waffles. Took 20 minutes to bring us a second platter of food.
-We didn't see the characters for 45 minutes after we sat down. By this time we have been there for 1.5 hours with a 2 year old. Mickey is the first to our section, and takes a break at the table before us. Yes, I understand that the characters need their breaks, but it was just poor timing all around. Try explaining that to a 2 year old!

Our whole section had a horrible experience. A few families left before teh characters even showed. It was really bad. I do have to say though that the characters were fine when we actually saw them. After 2+ hours at this breakfast, my son was anxious to get into the parks, so I didn't stop to complain, but it was really bad.

We have done Tusker House a few times. I think it is a bit more rushed and cramped, but the food is good and lots of choices. DS liked the singing/dancing part.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I think we're going with Donald's Safari so we can get into the parks early, (Will just be an early morning for us:surfweb:) After considering the weather in August, it just made more sense to get into the already sweltering Animal Kingdom, a little bit earlier that way we can be outta the heat a little better. Thanks again!

As I understand it, they let you in the park earlier so you can go to your reservation, I doubt they will let you get on anything if you're finished before the park opening time, but the location of Tusker House is really close to the Safari, so when 9 o'clock does come around you're right there before everyone else entering the park! So you can grab a fast pass, and still be the first in line, for no wait on the safari twice!
