I have ADR's at both but I think am going to cancel one because I would have to pay OOP (we won't have enough ddp credits for both). With the extra cost associated at these restaurants at the holiday time of year we will be down there (the week before Christmas week) our OOP costs are adding up to more than I really want them to!!

Taking both food and atmosphere/character interaction into consideration which would you say is the keeper?

We are traveling with our 2.5 year old on his first Disney trip.

Thanks!!!

edited to add - this is NOT a double booking. I currently have these reservations on different days and was planning on eating at both until I realized we would be there during the holiday price increase!

HI...

I think the answer really depends on which characters you want your son to see. If you aren't sure that you will see Mickey on your trip then I would say go with O'Hana (every kid should see Mickey on their 1st Trip to WDW).

If you are seeing Mickey elsewhere, then I would definitely go to Crystal Palace. Even with reservations at O'Hana's we have waited 1/2 hr + to get in for our breakfast and that really pushed the patience limits with our kids.

Pooh Bear and Piglet were great with my kids when they were your son's age...we got great pictures with them.

Best of luck with your decision. Have a great time!:goodvibes

Well that is a very tough one because they are both very good....we love the character interaction at Ohana better (and the characters), Ohana is quieter believe it or not, I like the sit down of Ohana instead of constantly getting up and maybe missing a character, and the food is very good and you can get the pressed pot of coffee from Kona

At CP you can get into the park before it opens and there is a huge selection to choose from but the noise level can get out of control

If I was staying at Poly I would pick Ohana otherwise I would pick CP

We love Crystal Palace and do it every year. I have to have my puffed french toast and my Tigger and Pooh fix. We've not done Ohanas since it switched over to family style and Stitch (sorry, just don't like Stitch at all).

That is a tough choice.

I think with a 2.5 year old, OHanas might be best because its much quieter and you dont have to leave the table! At CP, people/kids are always walking around (its a buffet).

As for characters, I think CP has better ones and they spend a nice amount of time at each table, but at 2.5, my boys (now in their teens) were a little afraid of the characters, didnt know the characters very well and to this day, they do not remember being there at that age!

I think it would be more pleasant for the family at OHanas. Go to CP next time!

no brianer for me. crystal palace. better food, and better characters for your kid.

I would agree with Crystal Palace. If you get an early ADR you can be done eating and meeting the characters before the park opens, and be at Dumbo and other rides in Fantasyland very early. We have done this twice and love being in the Magic Kingdom while it's still practically empty!

If your ADR for CP is prior to park opening, I would keep that just for the feeling of walking down Main Street without lots of people. We really enjoyed the buffet at CP - everything was fresh and food that was supposed to be hot was hot. I think that at 2 1/2 yrs old, the Pooh characters would be more appropriate.

We've eaten at both. Mickey was a no-show the time we were at Ohanas.

We did both of these breakfasts on our trip this year and Ohana's was definately our favourite. Crystal palace was just so busy, it was much nicer at Ohana's, no where as busy and hectic. The character interaction was fantastic and the food was great also and the kids did a dance around the room, it was just fantastic. We had Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch (although I feel like I'm missing someone).

But it really depends on who your DS prefers, Pooh and friends or Lilo and Stitch and friends.
