I'm contemplating switching my dinner ressies from Kona to Ohana, but before I do, I was hoping that someone could help me answer a couple of questions. I know that the food comes on 3ft skewers, and by reading the menu on wdwig.com it seems that there are several meats/seafoods that are available...

1) do you get all of the different meats/seafoods or do you have to choose?

2) if you get them all, are they on seperate skewers or are they mixed together? (my boyfriend doesnt eat seafood)

3) if they're all mixed together, do you think that they could substitute the shrimp/other seafood for something else?

Thanks a bunch!

I have never eaten at Kona but my whole family loved Ohanas. You get to eat all of the different meats/seafood. They are served one at a time with only one kind of meat/seafood on each skewer.

Just to clarify a bit: The meat isn't actually served to you on a skewer. The servers carry the big skewers from table to table. They ask you if you'd like whatever it is they have and will then push it off of the skewer onto your plate with a fork.

We really enjoyed our meal there. The dipping sauces were great!

Hope this helps.....

We love the Kona Cafe, but Ive also heard great reviews about Ohana and we plan to try it in December.

Speaking of seafood(we dont eat it either), does anyone know if there is any in the rice? I thought I had heard there was some in the rice at the Luau, so I just wanted to check about this. Thanks!

I'm fairly certain the rice was pork fried rice- no seafood. The wontons however had shrimp in them. If you just don't like seafood, you hardly taste the shrimp in the wontons...if you're allergic however, avoid them of course.

If your boyfriend is a meat eater, wait until he tastes the turkey skewers for the first time! They are the best things in the world. We always wondered what they did with all those turkey breasts, after removeing the legs to sell in all the parks. I guess they send them over to 'Ohana!

Anyway, if you can do both restaurants, please do. I love both Kona and 'Ohana, but each is a different experience.
