180 days out I made our "Ohana ressie for the first day we do AK. While at AK we plan for our son to complete the Wilderness Explorer program so were planning to go back for a few hours on our last day and complete it. At that time Wishes (which we want to watch from the Poly after dinner) was listed for 9pm. Not long after, Wishes was changed to 10pm and now I have received a message that our FP for ITTBAB was changed because that attraction will be closed. If we take that out and stay at AK until they close, I think we can do it all in one day - freeing up our 1/2 last day for another park. Which is great - except I cannot seem to get a later 'Ohana ressie to make that work. 
My current time is 5:15, which would have worked OK when Wishes was at 9pm, though it was a bit early even then (we would have rode the monorail loop and checked the gift shop to kill time before the Electric Water Pageant started), but for Wishes at 10PM it is really too early. Seven would be so much better, but can't find anything before 9:45. I asked DH and DS if we could pick something else in place of 'Ohana and got a resounding no!
I have been checking online at WDW multiple times per day, and now have widened my scope to include a couple other possible days if I shift other things around. I have started checking the cancellation thread here often. Is there really no better way? This is crazy! Might I have better luck if I call if do I need to keep doing what I am doing and cross my fingers? It is especially irritating because it is due to changes they made that I am screwed up now.
