'Ohana dinner - wontons and what sauces ?

'Ohana dinner - sounds good, but ....
Fried Wontons served with peanut sauce, chimichurri sauce and harissa

OK got the peanut sauce - peanuts in it.
but what is chimichurri sauce and harissa ?

What are they made out of ?
fruits ? veggies ? what kind ? spicy ? bland ?


We like the duck sauce (the red plum sauce) from Chinese restaurants.
Are either of the sauces like duck sauce ?

OK - on the web I found - BUT none are Polynesian !

ARGENTINA - Chimichurri Sauce
1/2 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/3 cup minced fresh parsley
1 clove garlic
2 minced shallots
1 teaspoon minced basil, thyme or oregano, or mixture
Salt and pepper to taste


MOROCCAN - Harrisa sauce
10 Dried red New Mexican chiles stems and seeds removed
2 tb Olive oil
5 Cloves garlic
1 ts Ground cumin
1 ts Ground cinnamon
1 ts Ground coriander
1 ts Ground caraway


And both are too spicy for my family

The peanut sauce was just okay, but the other two were yucky.

Last week when we ate there, 3 sauces came out with the wonton chips. One was a peanut sauce that honestly tasted like peanut butter. The other was a green looking sauce which tasted herby to me. The third was a thicker red sauce which tasted kind of like salsa but not really. I know that doesn't help much. Honestly? The 3 people in my party chose none of them after tasting all three. We had a few of the wonton chips with the salad served at the same time. I love the dressing on the salad. So good!!! The whole menu is good still, in our opinion.
