Ohana dessert question--are there options?

We haven't been to Ohana since 2002. I don't remember what the dessert was then that came with the meal, but I remember I ordered a "coconut snowball" (ice cream rolled in coconut with chocolate sauce) that was totally awesome.
We are considering Ohana for this next trip and I have looked at the menu. I am NOT a bread pudding eater! Are there any other options given in any way? Even maybe a kids' scoop of ice cream?

We were just there a few weeks ago and nothing was on the menu. However, there was a family next to us who's children were eating what looked like bowls of either pasta without sauce or white rice...neither of which were on the menu. I'd say call Disney and ask to be put in contact with 'Ohana directly.

I will say I cannot stand bread pudding...it's one of the nastiest things I've ever had. But their bread pudding dessert was just the BOMB! We even had seconds. So maybe it might surprise you, too.

They do have extra desserts that are not included in the price. They probably start around $5 or so. The bread pudding is included and you can get as much as you want.

Don't discount their bread pudding. I have always detested bread pudding, but the one at 'Ohana is scrumptious! It comes with a caramel sauce with bananas in it, and lots of ice cream. If you still don't like it you can always just eat the ice cream.

Bread pudding is the dessert now?? :sad1: Do they not serve the pineapple with the caramel sauce anymore or is this an option? We really enjoyed that last year and was looking forward to having it again this summer. Someone please tell me they still have it.

You might surprise yourself. We were there this week. DH hates my bread pudding but he loved it at Ohanas. I guess I just need the recipe!

The pudding comes w/ a scoop of ice cream on top so if you don't like it, I'm sure they'd bring you more ice cream.

That bread pudding was delicious. We ate it without the sauce. just the ice cream. I was a little worried because we reaaly enjoyed the pineapple and caramel sauce. We were not disappointed.

Give it a try. If you don't like it, have the ice cream. We were so stuufed we barely had enough place for dessert anyway.

It's not your grammies bread pudding. With Bread Pudding on one end of the spectrum and Bananas Foster on the other, this dessert would be much closer to Bananas Foster.

I think you should try it, as said you can always just eat the ice cream and sauce. But i've always been fond of BF desserts and think if you put enough ice cream and Foster sauce on anything i'd like it. Glad nobody spilled any.

blech! We love Bananas Foster and we did not like the bread pudding at all!

DD had ice cream...

Bring back the caramel and pineapple! That was to die for!

eeyoreforever,
The caramel and pineapple in no longer offered. They have replaced it with the Bread Pudding and Banana Foster sauce. There were menu changes at 'OHana in the fall. If you do a search, you will find many threads here on the changes. We totally enjoyed our meal here in October, after the changes had been made!

Maybe I will try it myself. If I don't like it I can ask if they have that coconut snnowball. But I am basing it on the bread pudding I've had forced on me in the past, so I'll give it a shot.

We thought the bread pudding was good but really missed the pineapple. We were so full from the meal it was hard to eat much of the bread pudding. The pineapple always seemed like a nice light ending to the meal.

When we were there a week ago, they brought out platters of the bread pudding for the adults to share, but also brought out platters of just ice cream for the kids.

You must try the bread pudding. I guarantee it is NOT what you imagine it to be! It is much better. TDF!
