I saw they had Turkey on the menu now? Is that Sliced turkey or legs?

the turkey breast isn't new, it's been on the menu for several years. They did add sausage though

I found info on the internet saying that George Bush is a devil worshipper who likes to dance in his mother's dress on the White House lawn.

Then it's true! I thought so but never saw it confirmed. :rotfl2:

I laughed out loud when I read this. Thanks for the laughter. I needed it today.

You know, I've been through college and graduate school so I'm pretty sure that I get that the legs are attached to the shell and not meant for consumption. I don't particularly enjoy seafood in general, but I will try anything at least once. As such, I did TRY the shrimp at 'Ohana, but could not get over the way it looked. I'm not sure what I said that warranted questioning my "exposure" to foods of the world, but I don't think your tone was necessary. Perhaps you just saw where I was from and decided you could talk down to me?

Amazing someone with your educational background would jump to conclusions that were nowhere to be drawn in my post. I would think someone with your educational background would not assume someone is talking down to them and frankly would have enough confidence in themselves to not care if they think someone is.

For the record, I answered your post that did not state whether you knew the legs are part of the shell. Given I have seen a few (and only a slight few) eat the shell of a shrimp and I have also know people who do not know the legs are part of the shell, the lack of information provided by your post led to me pointing this out in case you did not know.

Also, I had no idea where you were from and did not check until you made your snide comment. Given there were no jokes about inbreeding, coal miners or any other stereotypes associated with West Virginia, I fail to see how someone with your extensive and impressive education could draw the conclusion that I was talking down to you because of your home state. I happen to like the state and have a few friends from there, none of whom I would call stupid.

No one ever questioned your exposure to foods of the world. All that was questioned was whether you knew the legs were part of the shell; a fair question given the lack of information provided in your post. I also wondered if you had been exposed to shrimp with legs before... given any people haven't this was a fair question as well.

Instead of jumping to conclusions about how people think of you, take the time to re-read the post and see if they actually say the things you accused them of saying.

They had the sausage and the shrimp when I was there in June. There were only 4 meats, but I do not remember Turkey at all being on there. Maybe I am wrong and it was but I do know that there were only 4 meats and that Sausage was one of them (because I ate a lot of that).

It has always been steak, turkey, shrimp, and pork on the skewers. The menu was changed last year and they took the shrimp off the skewers and added sausage. They kept the turkey.

Thanks for proving my point. Where's the smiley face with the middle finger?

Speaking of shrimp legs, my son asked me if he was supposed to eat them. In unison, my husband said "yes" and I said "no." I stared at DH and asked if he was really eating the legs. He said sure, they're good and crispy. Wherepon my son started eating his legs also. Now that's just nasty! :rotfl:

Was the rude comment about the smiley face with the middle finger a grown up reaction........I think not. You have just exemplified every negative stereotype people from our state battle with.

I appoligize for this harsh statement on behalf of every other level headed WV native active on this board.

Apparently you missed the point completely. If I was trying to call you stupid for being from West Virginia I would have probably made a comment about the stereotypes associated with West Virginia. However, I did not do this. I see you conveniently left out my other comment saying I like the state and know several very intelligent people from West Virginia. Any reasonable person would therefore be able to draw the conclusion that I was not calling you stupid

I will say that it does seem like you are insecure about being called stupid and that people assume you are dumb for being from West Virginia. Not that I am calling you dumb, but frankly I am not sure why you would care what some person you have never met thinks about your intelligence. As for being from West Virginia, EVERY State has negative stereotypes associated with it. It doesn't mean they are true and unless specifically evoked as gospel (IE... All West Virginian are Inbred Hicks... All New Yorkers are Jerks...etc) then I am not sure why you would assume people think that of you. I know I am intelligent... If someone on here calls me stupid, what the heck do I really care... It doesn't take away my accomplishments nor does it affect my life in anyway. But again I do want to point out, I never called you stupid.

I am not sure why you are acting like a five year old or taking offense to phantom insults that were never made. I am taking you at your word that you have your masters placing you at a minimum in your mid 20's, but frankly the way you have been carrying on reminds me of how people used to act in High School.

Its funny... I really do never pay attention to location, I didn't realize there were so many West Virginians on this board. I had the pleasure of driving through on my way home from North Carolina to Chicago... Nice drive... really enjoyed it.

Maybe I am mistaken, I could SWEAR I had sausage, but maybe I am getting it confused with Sal and Carvao, a restaurant I enjoy... similiar concept just more meat. I KNOW I had the shrimp though when we were there in June because I remember thinking it would be nice to have that at Sal and Carvao. I will concede though that maybe I am thinking sausage and it was the pork.

Still though, my original question stands... Why is there turkey at a Hawaiian place?

We are many, but not all of us try to be so offensive to others! :thumbsup2
