I would love to take DD to the character breakfast at 'Ohana, but, Dh does not eat eggs or fruit. Can he order from an a la carte menu? We are willing to pay some sort of fee, but, not $18.99.

:)

No, there is no menu. Everything is served in a skillet (the fruit is on a separate platter) in the center of your table, and you fix your own plate. The platter should have bacon, sausage, potatoes, eggs, biscuits, and they bring Mickey waffles separately.

Doesnt eat fruit?? I dont think I have ever met anyone who doesnt eat fruit:confused3

Anyway, Ohanas is our favorite breakfast place- the food is delicious, but it is all you can eat family style so no ordering a la carte. They do also have breads and pastries, potatoes, bacon and sausage, and mickey waffles besides the eggs and fruit.

Even if he doesn't eat eggs or fruit you dh should be fine. Like the other posters said...there are many other things on the platter...bacon, sausage, breads/pastry, biscuits, mickey waffles (served separately) and this is Family Style. Family style not only means that they bring it to your table in a big skillet for you to "serve yourself" but it also means that you can order more of what you want. Once you have been eating from the skillet they will come by and ask if they can get you more of anything...it doesn't have to be the whole skillet...you can ask for just more bacon or just more biscuits. All fo the food is very good and the atmosphere is great also...I would highly recommend it!!!

What type of entertainment do they have at breakfast for the kids besides the characters visiting?

His mother died when he was young, his sisters force fed him fruits and vegetables (:confused3 ) , so, now he cannot eat any. You have no idea how difficult it is to make dinner for someone who will not eat a vegetable :headache: We are skipping 'Ohana in May, we are going for breakfast at Crystal Palace, but, plan to eat there in November when we go with friends. This way, if he decides not to go, we can still go and meet him after breakfast. We are doing Crystal Palace

Thanks!

There is really no other "entertainment". The characters each come to the table and sign autographs and pose for pics. Then at some point they start handing out tamborines and marraccas (sp?) to the kids and envite them to parade around the resaurant with the characters. The kids think this is great and they follow their favourite character around the restaurant singing and playing there intrument!:cheer2:

That is so sad - I totally understand as I was force fed veggies, and I cannot tolerate stewed tomatoes - I'm slowly introducing veggies - but I hate all the problems and drama it can create!

Also for Ohana I think its important to know how they do their seating - its not a buffet, so when you go for your adr time - the lobby is usually crowded - and you can see empty tables!

They seem to divide the restaurant into 4ths (or 6ths or??) so they seat section 1 feed them, then move on to section 2 - meanwhile the characters come out and meet and great section 1 - and so on...

then until the ENTIRE section 1 is empty and reset - all are waiting in the lobby - then the buzzers go off and a "cousin" seats your party - then the characters come thru

and so on

its a timing thing - I think it makes it easy this way so no one is left behind (ie skipped with a character) and then they do some kind of parade and song with the kids and characters...

it takes up a lot of time - so we always schedule it our last day, after we've packed -
