Quick question about eating at 'Ohana and seeing Wishes. I want to be sure we get to see Wishes from somewhere on the Polynesian grounds (either in the restaurant or outside the restaurant is fine as long as we don't miss it entirely).

I'm not sure what time to make a reservation, given that we don't know how long we'll need to wait for a table. If we have an 8:00pm reservation, might we be able to either get in early enough to get a table and then go stand by the window, or alternatively can we show up at the podium and then ask if we can come back in 15 minutes after the fireworks? Or is the wait time usually 15-20 minutes anyhow?

Would a different time in the same general neighborhood work better? I'm afraid that if we get a 7:30 reservation they'll be just letting us in as the fireworks start and we won't be able to enjoy them. And with a slightly later one we'd be standing in line at the podium. Just not sure how this works.

What time are the fireworks? Keep in mind even if your in the restaurant during wishes there is no guarantee you will be given a table that has a view of it. You can of course request it but a request is just that and everyone requests it at that time. We were just there 3 weeks ago, and were seated at 9PM, and we finished at just before 10 and went out to the beach to watch them.

Fireworks are at 8pm when we are going. I had asked for a 7:30 reservation but 8:00 was the best they could do. I can try to change it later but I'm just not sure what is the best time to change it TO.

If the fireworks are at 8 then I would change the res to 8:30. Watch the firworks from the beach and then go in as soon as they are over. A lot of people probably linger in the restaurant to watch Wishes so after its over they probably have a rush of tables.

That is what I suggest is the beach b/c it's so peaceful. They have hammocks & lounge chairs to relax in. This will be our plan after our big Ohana meal. :goodvibes

Thanks for the advice. Just changed reservation to 8:20 PM. For some reason that wasn't showing up before as an option. I assume that will give us enough time to come back in for dinner after the fireworks. 8:30 wasn't given as an option -- it was 8:20 or 9:15, which is way too late.

That sounds good! The fireworks arent very long and its only like a few minute walk from the beach to Ohana.
