We have an 8:15p ADR at 'Ohana and fireworks are set to go off in the MK at 10pm. This is our non-park day, so we were hoping to watch from the Poly beach. I know 'Ohana has the reputation of being really slow, so I'm thinking we're cutting it a bit close...even if we arrive a little early.

Do you think we should keep trying for something between 7:30-8pm? Or do you think 8:15p will work? I'd heard that 'Ohana sometimes permits patrons to step out onto the beach to watch fireworks mid-meal and then return, but if the restaurant closes at 10pm and fireworks start at 10pm this particular evening- it just doesn't seem likely for this particular night.

Any thoughts?

I think it just depends on how far behind they are in seating guests by the time your ADR time arrives. We normally get a 6:30 - 7:00 pm ADR, and have had to wait 30 minutes to be seated, and less than 10 minutes last trip. We have also had really quick servers, and one server who never came to our table, so our meal ended up taking 2 hours.

Thanks! Yeah- that's what I'm afraid of...I hear a lot of "we waited 30 min," but every now and then I hear a "we barely waited" OR "we arrived early and were seated right away." If only we didn't have major monorail issues our list trip (causing us to miss our 'Ohana ADR)...otherwise this would be an ADR for Citrico's or Narcoosee's. Thanks again!

It has been our experience (3 times to Ohana) that we are seated on time. However the meal itself is slow. We do arrive at least 30-45mins ahead of adr time, so that may be a factor in being seated on time.
And usually our meal runs about an hour and 1/2...sometimes a bit longer, but it is just DH and I.

I was thinking about showing up around 7:45p- so maybe this will help push us closer to on time like your experiences. If we can keep it around an hour and a half- we should still be able to make it outside just in time...and if we're looking really good on time- I might even be able to grab a lapu lapu. :cloud9:
