Oh Toodles!!!

My children are all four years apart ...and they are ALL the BEST of friends... from oldest to the youngest...You will not have to worry about them being best friends...of course, I DO believe mine are very close because of all of the medical problems, they really do know what is important in life and and value that! :goodvibes I have seen that repeated over and over among the Wish families, no matter the age difference...:thumbsup2 Wow, that is a long time to not have to go back to the cardiologist! AMAZING! :woohoo::woohoo:

GREAT news about the doctor appointments! As for the meds...I'm not sure what the regulations are now. But the last time I flew I carried my shots in an insulated bag with one of those plastic freezer things. (why can't I remember the name of them?) You know the things you freeze and put in your lunch box to keep things cold.

In fact, when we go to Disney, we drive for about 6 or 7 hours, and that is still the way I carry my meds... Depends on how long of a flight you have. You can check with your pharmacist and they can tellyou the best way to transport her meds...and I am sure someone will chime in here with the exact answer...

I just wanted to congratulate you on the once a year doctor appointments. I know how great that feeling is.

Nini
I know it's great,(I can remember when it was every two weeks for 6months) but she still haves her check ups with her reg dr. I don't know how your dr does it, but I hate that she doesn't do the echo the same day. I know she busy, but I would wait. It just I hate to drive down their two times in a week. Also, we only found one place that makes January meds right and it's 35mile drive one way. That was hard for us, but my dh works down their now and he just picks it up on this lunch.

Like Nini posted you should be able to bring one of the ice packs to keep your medicine cold. DS3 had an ear infection the day before we flew out and they gave him the antibiotics that needed to be kept cold and the TSA out of Providence never gave us a hassle.

We are going to put the meds that need to be cold in different bag with Ice pack to show them. Thanks for all the info.

January update: She had her echo today and she has two leaky valves(she did only have one), but the dr. isn't worried about it. and GUESS WHAT!!! our next dr. appt is April 5, 2012!!!!!:banana: We are now at once year appts. Isn't that crazy...She still on all of her meds. Question about meds. What would be the best way to carry on all of our family meds? I'll be packing(Carry-on) both girls reg. meds, my dh and my meds, pain relief meds, Kaitlyn has four different diaper creams, breathing machine, etc. They will let me carry them on board right? January meds need to be refrigerated. How would I do?

Is the breathing machine a nebulizer or oxygen, if it is oxygen there are a set of regulations that you might be able to get more info on in the DISabilities thread. As far as the other meds, as long as all medications and Medical devices are in the same bag they are allowed on the plan as a carry on which out using up your carry on allotment. Liam also has a medication that needs to be refidgerated and we but it in with a cold pack and had no problem with. I would make sure you have doctors notes for medical devices and medicine in their perscription bottles, might not need them but just in case. Some other good advice is to put any sterilized medical equipment in a zip lock and marking it Sterilized. That way handlers will be less likely to open it and contaiminate your clean equipment. I also find that bags made for sterilizing breast pump equiment is excellent for sterelizing Nebulizer equipment. Just a little water and 45 seconds in the microwave.

Hope this helps.:thumbsup2

We have multiple MD appointments every week; but, THANKFULLY Lisa has her ECHOS on the same day we see the MD...she has so many, that would drive me nuts if we had to do them on different days! If she needs a PRN ECHO, I just call her cardiologist and even if he isn't there, his partners can do it the same day I call. She has never been put to sleep for them, does January have hers done while awake (some of our friends have to sedate their children for the ECHO). Our compounding pharmacy is a 45 minute drive one way, I try to combine it with an MD appointment in that direction if possible...I am happy your DH can pick it up at lunch now, gas is :scared1::scared1::scared1:. Praying all is well and that your questions on the meds are being answered. It can be so overwhelming and I know I am going to be the exact same way when we go.

Sorry she haves so many appts. We been their and I don't want to go back. It so overwhelming and stress me out and just think about what it does to the kid. We are lucky that January doesn't have to sedate. I know family that have to go four hrs away to have sedate echo every 6months. She does very well and doesn't cry at all. I had echo done when I was preg. with Kaitlyn and it hurt. I know it hurts her. I can't wait to get on the plane and think I made it. I never been on plane and it's little overwhelming to me and I'll have two kids with me. I can't look like I'm scared.. Gas here is 3.75:scared1::scared1::scared1: I'm lucky my dh haves a work vehicle :worship:and doesn't have to pay for this work gas:worship:. Only places I go is dr. appts.

The weather is warm. I hate when the weather changes all the time. The girls had to great Big Gives in the mail on Sat. morning, but January was at her grandma spending time with her Aunt(12) and cousin(7). She came home today and she is talking like them. First thing she saw the boxes on the couch and she couldn't wait to open them.

Crazy hot day yesterday and GUESS WHAT!!!Snow today!! I took Kaitlyn to the hospital to get more blood work. This time they did normal blood work and blood testing(I think it's call that) It wear they see how long it takes her blood to clot. I think it was little over minute.
