Thanks to NancyIL and her suggestions of checking out www.biddingfortravel.com before anyone does Priceline - I AM HOOKED!!!! And VERY proud of myself - I have had two hotels that I needed to book and in checking out ALL my options Priceline seemed to be the best and I can't believe what I got....

In June I needed a room in Chicago for a night and I didn't want to pay $109 to stay at a place that I don't care for. So what did I do??? Between yesterday and today I've made several bids and I got a 3 star for $65!!!!! I went to the hotel site and the rooms for that night are ranging from $155 to $199!!!!!! YIKES

In September I wanted to get a room close to a scrapbook expo and I didn't want to pay for the room at the expo which is around $169 a night. So last week I went on Priceline and got a Courtyard about a mile away for $40 a night!!!! I went to the site before I bid and the rooms were listed from $66 for a government rate to $99 for a standard rate!!!!

YEEEEHAAAAWWW!!!!! But oh how tempting this is!!! Thanks Nancy for your help you've offered in the past!!! Saved me a TON of money!

I LOVE priceline for personal travel. Last year we got the Holiday Inn at Cocoa Beach for two nights UNDER $30 a night and had an Ocean view! I've done great in Orlando, San Francisco and most recently got the Crown Plaza in Anaheim for $47 a night, and a weekend in Palm Springs for $100 a night when we couldn't find a room there for under $200 a night!

Congratulations!
My PL addiction turned into a little side business for me. Even with my room fee included I save people 50% or more. And isn't bidding exciting? :) It's even more fun using someone elses credit card!

I love Priceline...I use it whenever we travel and I have never had a bad experience at all. I am going to Niagra Falls and even got a 4 Points Sheraton Suites for $45 dollars!! Can't beat that...
Another Priceline addict :)

What a coincidence, Chris, Nancy was my Priceline gury, too from way back in 2000! I took a chance and got the Marriott Orlando Resort for a ridiculous $65 a night and the rest is history.

I use it at least 4 to 5 times a year with wonderful results. I even use it for little getaways right here in Atlanta. It really helps to be knowledgable before you start bidding and the Bidding for Travel website is priceLESS! :teeth:

I'm another one that NancyIL managed to hook on priceline. I've done execeptionally well in the Chicago area at getting wonderful rooms for $35 a night. One place even had a full size stove and refrigerator. I could have lived there.

The last time that I went to Chicago for a DISmeet, I have to admit that I didn't use priceline because I wanted to stay in a specific hotel. I paid three times as much for the room just for the convenience of picking where I was going to stay. :earseek:

Welcome to the club Chris.

I love Priceline, but I am pretty flexible traveler. For my trip to DC to watch figure skating in March I got a 4 star hotel for Wed and Thru for $70 a night and a different 4 star for Fri and Sat for $50. These hotels start in the $190 range! (I split the bid since I thought I could get a lower bid accepted for the weekend nights only!) WOO HOO!!!

Congratulations on your great deals!! I've used priceline 3 times in the past and got great deals every time. We're planning our next WDW trip now, but I just can't get any bids accepted! Ahhh!!! We've been getting help from biddingfortravel (great site!!), but nothing has happened yet. We're not going for a few weeks so I've got to be patient. I don't want to end up bidding too high. If any of my bids get accepted, I'll be sure to post! You guys have inspired me to continue!

Thanks for your kind words, Chris, Robin, and John! :) I'm glad Priceline has saved you lots of money - as it has me. Just be careful...I got carried away last year and gave away several hotel reservations for trips that I ended up not taking - so it doesn't always save you money! ;)

Right now I have Priceline hotel reservations in Chicago for April and July DIS meets, and in Anaheim for a solo trip in May. :teeth:
