My middle DD love Stitch. Bought a plush one on day 1, and last night made us ride the Stitch ride. It was awful...LOL

Even she admits it was a bad idea!

I'm sad to admit even though it's bad it's one of my guilty pleasures at MK.

So what is so bad about Stitch's Great Escape? My son is so excited about this ride he can hardly stand it. Hope it is not a huge dissapointment.

My son is 7, anyone with a 7 year old have advice?

Okay, I really don't understand why this has become the ride to hate at WDW on here. Compared to Alien Encounter? Yeah, pretty awful. If you don't compare it to what it replaced, I don't think it's that bad though.

I mean, I wouldn't ride it over and over or anything, but I don't think the ride itself is worthy of the reputation it has.

I don't get the hate. We like it. The only complaint my husband has is that the shoulder bars come down too low - so he makes sure to sit a bit off his seat as it's coming down so that it stops sooner and doesn't press into his shoulders.

I think it's got some unique things about it that make it a particularly bad ride. Kids like Stitch, oh look a cute Stitch ride! Then it turns out to be the evil Stitch, not the cute Stitch. I think when it was Alien Encounter, it was more obvious that it would be a bit scary (Aliens). Now I think it's stuck in no-mans-land..it's not a great ride for kids and it's been dumbed down a bit for adults. It's dark, which can make kids scared, and of course being restrained in your seat for eight minutes without being able to get up and comfort your child or leave...not fun either (as compared to let's say It's a Bug's Life where at least you can get up if your child is scared).

I miss Alien Encounter, it's okay for some rides to be scary. It had warning signs.

Heck Space Mountain is a roller coaster in the dark, talk about scary.

This is just my opinion ...I would not recommend it for a 7-year-old. That's just my opinion. If he loves Stitch, try to go to Ohana for the character breakfast...much more fun. :) Maybe watch it on Youtube and see what you think and let him see it too.

I have only been on the ride before it was altered, and it was freaking children out then, I don't know how the new less scary version is but that first one was definitely not for kids.

I have a 7 year old and a 10 year old boy. Neither of them likes the Stitch ride, which is fine by me. Reasons being the shoulder bars are uncomfortable, it's really not a ride so to speak, the content is neither funny or scary, it's not the cute Stitch but the evil Stitch that and there just isn't much to it.

The first time I went on AE I was around 7. Absolutely loved it, did it over and over again, and my souvenir that trip was a Skippy (from the preshow) plush.

Not for all kids maybe, but it definitely didn't just appeal to adults and teens.

2 words....chilli burps. At least that is why I hate this ride. I can't get that stench out ta my nose even after smelling all the yumminess coming out of the bakery.

I haven't done the stitch ride, but for those who don't like the shoulder bars pressing down, I learned during the Alien ride that if you put your hands up by your ears when the restraints come down, that will stop them. You lose all the effects that the restraint adds to the ride, but for me, this was a huge plus.

I think this (Stitch) is hated on its own merits, not simply as it compares to a previous incarnation.

I may be one of the few but I think it's cute. It goes along to exactly what the movie does. Stitch escapes from capture and runs a few little games on the audience. I'm not sure why people hate it so much, maybe because of the darkness, kids I've noticed get very nervous of that and maybe the seating isn't the best, but the overall attraction I think is cute and supports the movie very well. I think it has a lot to do with how dark and cramp it can get in there, other then that I'm not sure?

Being restrained in the dark, waiting to see what happens...NEVER AGAIN. We are HUGE Stitch fans, but that ride is beyond awful.

Welcome to the club of: What were they thinking?:rotfl2::rotfl2:

This has been an ongoing issue here on the boards. I really wish they would either make it worth seeing or just shut it down. My DD loves Stitch as well and will not go into the attraction ever again.

I am SO glad the first time I experienced this "ride" I was alone with my husband. I would never make my kids go through that, unless maybe they were being really naughty lol. I'm not claustrophobic in the least, but when the overhead bar came down I felt trapped and started having trouble breathing. It was insane. Even if I was offered cold hard cash or unlimited FP+, I would not go back in there!
