Oh my....Stitch ride was so bad...lol

I agree I do not like this ride and will not go on it again. Come on Disney get something new put there:sad2:

It's crap!

Those shoulder restraints are not only misleading in that the ride has no motion that would necessitate them, but incredibly uncomfortable (unless you've got an extreme amount of fat or muscle in your shoulders, they can and WILL crush your bones).

I'd take a wild shot and say that most rides are either a run through of the entire story canon (Little Mermaid, Splash Mountain...) or an epilogue of sorts placed at the end of canon. Stitch has NO canon placement. The scene in the film is somewhat recreated, but there is no darkness and no chili burps.

Besides that, many young children either have seen the film and known Stitch at the END better, or have not seen the film and simply see Stitch as cute and cuddly. This portrayal is the exact opposite. Out of place, out of character...need we say more?

With Stitch, I don't rank it way down the list at Disney simply because I feel the effort was at least there. Sure they could have gutted the space and turned it into something new, but since they didn't do that I don't think what's there is all that bad. I know on a personal level people might not like the storyline of the ride or some of the occurrences in it, but at least you can't point to it and ask why it looks unfinished or cheap.

I mean, when I compare the Stitch animatronic to some of the newer ones like the ones in Little Mermaid, I'm happy with the results. And it's much better than what Disney could have done there, excessive use of screens like they did with so many refurbs.

So what is so bad about Stitch's Great Escape? My son is so excited about this ride he can hardly stand it. Hope it is not a huge dissapointment.

My son is 7, anyone with a 7 year old have advice?

My 5 year olds at the time (now 7) thought it was pretty pathetic...

My husband took our four year old and I waited with our younger daughter, who wasn't tall enough to ride. I was going to do the rider swap, but our older girl didn't want to go again. She wasn't scared, just annoyed that he "spit" on her. I haven't gone yet. Maybe I'll give it a whirl on our next trip.

My kids were 5 and 9 when we rode it. We all hated this ride!! They were not scared. Just bored and not entertained at all. Never again!!

Shoulder bars are a deal breaker for us. We did try the next time we went to sink down further in the seats and/or put our hands up, but it still came down and really made the rest of the time uncomfortable. Two tries was enough for us. That's ok since there is so much to do at MK that we love!

We love this ride. My daughter did it for the first time when he was 6 and loved it (I have to admit she is a little different). We do it every time we go to Disney.

It seems like sinking down in the seat would just make the shoulder bar go down even lower.

Someone said there are no effects with the shoulder bars now: on Alien there definitely were. Why do they have them if they don't use them anymore? That's just trapping you! There is no reason for that.

I found it hysterically cheesy. Would I go in it again? Sure, if there's a 10 minute or less wait. It's like Carousel of Progress, a way to suck up some A/C on a hot day.

Then again, I didn't get spit on by Stitch. I'm sticking with the back row on that one :)

Yup, sinking down would make it worse. The bar goes until it hits something, so if you sink down it will force you to sit like that the whole time. You need to sit as tall as you can until they lock, then you can sink down a little if you don't like them.

Also, there's still effects. Stitch bounces from person to person, and I want to say he also tickles your neck (or something like that).

Our family went on Stitch a few years back and ever since then it has been on our "must not do" again list. That, and Captain EO...

We had no idea it would be so scary for kids. It wasn't a ride we researched ahead of time. But it was pouring rain and we ducked in to get out of the rain. Our kids 5 & 7 were scared out of their minds. DD kept asking if she was going to die :(
Every time we talk about going back to Disney the first thing they say is they are not going on that ride again.

My 6 yo thinks it's hilarious how much I hate this ride so he drags me on it all the time. I just push up on the shoulder bars, put a poncho over my head and use my iPad.

After the first (and only) time we did the Stitch "ride", my kids just turned to me afterwards with a very puzzled, confused look. Kinda like "Really??? That was it????" :confused3

And they have not asked to go back on it again, thank goodness!

I didn't hate this ride at all. Is it one of the best? No, but it's not horrible. But I guess if you already hate Stitch as a character, you're not going to like this attraction!

I took my then almost 4 year old on it. It was pretty terrible, she wasn't traumatized or anything but I wouldn't take on it again. It just was a waste of time, I'd rather stand in line to another ride then get right on that one. It is just boring. I went on it again in April and it was cool to check stuff out but I see no need to do it again.

If your kid is afraid of the dark at all I'd skip it. I would suggest you do it at least once to judge for yourself but it should never be at the top of your list.
