My Mother has just ordered me the most amazing birthday present ever and I am THRILLED!!

Wanna know what it is??

Well, bless her, she tried to sort out a trip to DLRP for Robert and me for January (It's my 21st, so it's a big birthday!) but we couldn't make it work.

Instead, she's paid for us, Robert and me, to have a night in a really posh hotel in Edinburgh called: "The Witchery by the Castle"..... And she's paying for us to have a meal in their restaurant!! :cloud9:

We will be staying in 'The Old Rectory' suite and we'll be dining in the 'Secret Garden'... :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

My birthday is Dec.16th, and we won't be going until the after New Year (We're booked in for the 12th of January) so it'll be a nice treat for post Christmas!!

I'm really excited!! It looks such an amazing hotel!!! (Hotels are still a very new thing to me....!)

OMG Bob, the Witchery is one of our favourite restaurants in Edinburgh. You are going to have such a wonderful time. The restaurant is absolutely fantastic and the hotel just blows you away. You will both have the best time ever:yay:

I can't wait!! I stumbled across it looking for Honeymoons, but because we think we're opting for DLRP for our Honeymoon, I thought we'd never get to stay there!

Have you dined in the Secret Garden room before?? As I understand it, its seperate to the Witchery dining room..... Either way, are they as AMAZING as they sound???

I'm sooooo excited!!!!

We've dined in the Secret Garden room a good few times. You are correct the SG is separate to the Witchery dining room. They are out of this world, you are going to have a brillant time.

If you're looking for places for honeymoons then you may like this place:-

http://www.prestonfield.com/

It's owned by the same company that owns The Witchery. It's just outside of Edinburgh and is just as wonderful as the Witchery. Friends of ours got married there, it's such a fabulous location that just made the entire reception so fantastic. Rhubarb is Prestonfield's signature restaurant and its also gorgeous.

We stay in Glasgow so Edinburgh is only an hour away from us and somewhere we eat quite regularly.

Let me know if there is any info I can help you with.

Oooooo- That looks gorgeous!!!!! I wonder..... It might be somewhere nice to go for my hen do!! I was looking for somewhere that did afternoon tea as I thought it would be something nice and girly, and that looks amazing!!! Edinburgh is 40mins away on the train from us, so that might be a good option!! Thanks- I've been looking for ages!!!

Bob,

If you wanted to try Glasgow instead of Edinburgh this is one of the best places for Afternoon Tea.

It's done in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Afternoon Tea is served all day, so you could enjoy the sites of Glasgow too:thumbsup2
