LMBO!!!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I really do need the foil, when I was dreaming about TC it just seemed so right, like yeah, Scientology had ALL the answers, TC wasn't weird just misunderstood.

I woke up in a sweat!

Nancy, please be careful! And I know there is another Buffalo DISer, can you please check in? I am getting worried you went to "take one for the team" and maybe you haven't come back!

FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING GOOD PEOPLE! Watch your back! Watch your South Park! And please let us know before you go undercover, so we can go in for you if you get too far in!!!!!!!

I'm here -- just got back from WDW last night. I have been thinking about all of you and picked up some of the mags for the flight home. Here's what I found out:

According to Us magazine ...
There is " no dress, no location set, n date.
They were supposed to get married this summer. Well, folks, summer is just about over. And
"For now, Holmes is refocusing on work."
Well, for someone so ga-ga over Cruise, why aren't they getting married?!?!

"Tom and Katie's best friends have seen Suri. Katie has had tea times and showed her off."
To whom? Since when has Penelope Cruz been a best friend of Katie's?!

...now that the new parents are past what a source calls a 'bumpy' stage. After Suri was born, "[Holmes] was stressed and sad and no one knew what to do -- she was just overwhelmed," says the source.
Uh ... don't get me wrong but isn't stressed and sad two markers for PPD!? Poor girl never got the help she needed. I don't think she was overwhelmed -- I think she had PPD!

Also from Us
Indeed, a Cruise insider tells Us the photos are part of a publicity plan as deliberate as a campaign for a box office blockbuster. "Tom did this to build attention," says the source. "And to make it a bigger deal than the Shiloh pictures."

And, someone explain to me exactly how Tom & Katie became such great friends w/the Beckham's?!?!! I just DO NOT get that at all!!!!! I was stunned to read that Beckham came up to their suite to present Tom-Kat w/his winning jersey. What is up w/that relationship!?

BTW -- how did this thread end up on pg. 4?!!? Yikes!

It could have been eleven days before we figured out what happened to you. Look what happened to Katie when she went missing for eleven days! :sad2:

:sad2: Unreal.... the irresponsibility of these Suri-Dis'ers :p

OKAY, I REALLY HAVE TO SAY THIS: THIS THREAD STARTED OUT IN GOOD FUN, BUT I REALLY DON'T LIKE THE TURN IT'S SEEM TO HAVE TAKEN.:

LOL! :lmao: I wasnt gonna BUY a Dianetics book - I just wanted to flip through it! :rotfl:

But Nancy going without backup, and Sue willing to walk into a center is absolutely uncalled for!! :rolleyes1

I think at this point, one of us is gonna have to take a personality test. We have to see what they do to recruit. We're gonna have to draw straws...

I will draw first. OH LOOKIE! I got a really big long straw.... I obviously am not the one.... next?? :rolleyes1

I already harrassed the guy at the Scientology kiosk in the mall ... I think I've done my part, so it's a good thing that the straw I drew was a long one, too! Whew!!!!!

I have to agree DAXX - the mall kiosk incident does constitute "doing your part" They probably know your name, etc from that incident, alone.

Glad to hear you drew a long straw!

Just heard on TV that Paramount Pictures is dropping Tom Cruise because of his controversial comments. :thumbsup2

::yes:: I will now make a concerted effort to see every Paramount movie I can :teeth:

Erratic behavior cited as one reason behind decision

LOS ANGELES - August 22, 2006 - A Wall Street Journal story released late Tuesday said Paramount Pictures is terminating its 14-year relationship with Tom Cruise, in part because of the actor's erratic behavior of the past year.

"As much as we like him personally, we thought it was wrong to renew his deal," Viacom Inc. Chairman Sumner Redstone told the Wall Street Journal. "His recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount."

Viacom is the parent company of Paramount.

Cruise, one of the most successful movie stars of all time, has starred in "Top Gun," "Rain Man" and three "Mission: Impossible" movies. The Journal story says the actor has based his moviemaking company, Cruise/Wagner Productions, on the Paramount lot since 1992.

But increasingly unusual behavior during the past year, including a famous stint jumping on Oprah Winfrey's couch while explaining his relationship with actress Katie Holmes, has drawn questionable reactions from the press and public. Cruise has also become increasingly vocal about his involvement with the controversial Church of Scientology.

The Journal story said Paramount believes that Cruise's behavior hurt the box office of the most recent "Mission: Impossible" movie, which was released in May.

A spokeswoman for Cruise/Wagner Productions declined to comment on the Journal story.

This week's Us magazine had a statement that relations between Cruise and Paramount were soured ... so I guess this comes as no surprise.

Didn't we all know his antics would cost him?! They're probably anxious to get rid of the wacko before he does anything else to drag them down. I wonder who will pick up his option!?!? Should be interesting.

I wonder if the head Scientologists are in a panic thinking "Great -- now what ... Show us the money, Tom"!!!! Maybe the Scientologists will drop him, too, b/c he's giving Scientology a bad name?! Now, wouldn't THAT be hysterical?!?!!?!

Doesn't Viacom also produce South Park? :teeth: I wonder if this recent decision didn't happen after Mat & Trey (creators of South Park) sent them that Scientology episode in protest ;) to it being censured. They probably said something like, "Just take one hour of your time to view this episode, and we will accept whatever decision you make," :teeth: knowing it would snap all those execs right out of their Pro-Scientology/Pro-Tom Cruise haze they've been in.

I can just see their faces afterwards in the viewing room:
"OMG they are all nuts!" What were we thinking? Quick! Get rid of Tom Cruise."

:lmao:

Long straw for me too!!

I read in "In Touch" that the "Derange et trois", as I like to call them, visited someone (maybe the Beckhams) and the guy found Toms excessive strictness about Suri unusual!! Anyone else read this article??? I can't find it online.

As for Tom's behavior hurting MI:3.....Gee, ya think?

And I am glad to see that the Paramount has decided to tell us all that it is exactly that "his recent conduct has been unacceptable"...instead of saying some lame brain thing like...(we, unfortunately have no exciting parts/roles for Tom in the near future).

But, seriously, folks, Tom will survive. He will MAKE/CREATE his own movie company...and that is just fine. At least a BIGGIE the likes of Paramount are
showing all of us, that they are not and will not tolerate this erractic behavior of Tom's. I, basically, think people just do not like the dude anymore. Paramount is better off pulling the plug on ole Tommy boy. But we all know how WARPED he is...he will undoubtedly be the ONLY ONE IN DENIAL after this recent termination.

OT: I watched an old episode of Dawson's Creek earlier today....and what a sweetie Katie really was on that show.....KATIE PLEASE COME BACK...leave that dark side and come back to US.

Well, all I can say is, "It's about time!!!!" My dh and were just wondering at dinner how these Hollywood powerhouses could NOT recognize that he is just nuts!!!

I guess they were waiting for the $$$$$ damage to start happening before they decided to care.

I'm really happy about this...now maybe he can the psychiatric help he needs. :rotfl2:

Oh, did anyone else see the quote in one of the mags this week that admitted Katie had been having depression problems since the birth? Hmmm...can anyone say, "Karma"? Poor Katie...do you think psychiatry could help her grow a backbone??

Oh....one more interesting tidbit on the "relationship contracts"...one of the people who has seen Suri is Penelope Cruz. You know, their relationship ended pretty quickly....maybe she is still under some "fringe" contract requiring her to say nice things whenever Tom is in need. I mean, you keep the baby secret, except for your LAST girlfriend? Come on??!!!!

Of course....all this is "alleged" ;)

Sorry if any of this has been posted before!!

Tom's rep responded that it was his decision to leave :rotfl2:

Um, yeah... we buy that Tom just like we buy Suri :teeth:

Here's the Story from MSNBC this morning. Too bad it isn't as funny as the last one they wrote about Tom....

Paramount cuts ties with Tom Cruise
Chairman says Cruise’s ‘recent conduct has not been acceptable ’

NEW YORK - It’s Tom Cruise vs. Sumner Redstone in a case of you’re fired-I quit at Hollywood’s highest level.

On one side is the chairman of Viacom, Inc., which owns Paramount Pictures.

On the other is the industry’s biggest and most bankable star, whose last seven films have each generated over $100 million.

Redstone said Tuesday that Paramount would sever its long and profitable relationship with Cruise/Wagner Productions, Cruise’s company with producing partner Paula Wagner. Redstone told the Wall Street Journal that Cruise’s “recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount.”

But Wagner told The Associated Press that agents for Cruise/Wagner Productions stopped negotiating with Paramount over a week ago and since secured independent financing, effectively taking any contract-renewal deal off the table.

“For some reason, Paramount has chosen to negotiate in the press,” Wagner said, calling Redstone’s announcement “surprising.”

“It’s not really the most businesslike approach,” she said. “We’ve had virtually no dealings with Mr. Redstone.”

Paramount referred all calls on the matter to Viacom. Viacom spokesman Carl Folta had no comment late Tuesday.

“As much as we like him personally,” Redstone is quoted as saying, “we thought it was wrong to renew his deal.” He then cited Cruise’s “recent conduct” as the reason.

In the past year or so, Cruise couch-hopped on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show while proclaiming his love for Katie Holmes, criticized the use of antidepressants and claimed that postpartum depression doesn’t exist. He also got into an angry exchange with Matt Lauer on the “Today” show while defending his opinions.

MESSAGE BOARD: HAVE YOUR SAY
What do you think about Paramount dumping Cruise?

Cruise/Wagner Productions has been based on the Paramount lot since 1992.

“We viewed ourselves as partners with Paramount,” Wagner said, adding that the collaboration has produced $2.5 billion worth of business.

With “War of the Worlds” and “Mission: Impossible 3,” Cruise helped earn nearly $1 billion for Paramount this year alone, Wagner said. Cruise/Wagner Productions brought “M:I3” director J.J. Abrams to the studio, she said, which recently inked a five-year arrangement with Abrams.

She and Cruise had been considering independent financing for their company “for a long time,” she said.

“For us, this is a very new and exciting direction. We look forward to working with all the studios.”

Key facts about actor Tom Cruise
— In June 2006 Cruise took the No.1 spot on Forbes magazine’s annual list of the world’s 100 most powerful stars. In the last 10 years all but one of his movies have grossed more than $200 million worldwide. His top-grossing movie was ”War of the Worlds” (2005), which topped $590 million around the world.
— In May 2006, a USA/Today poll showed his public approval rating had slipped to 35 percent. Many of those polled cited his blunt criticism of actress Brooke Shield’s treatment for depression and of psychiatry in general.
— In 2005, he became the butt of jokes for a manic, couch-hopping TV appearance declaring his love for girlfriend Katie Holmes on the Oprah Winfrey show.
— Hollywood’s highest accolade — an Oscar — has eluded Cruise, despite three acting nominations for his roles in “Magnolia”, “Jerry Maguire” and “Born on the Fourth of July.”
— As a teenager, Cruise planned on becoming a Roman Catholic priest. In 1990 he converted to the controversial Church of Scientology, becoming one of its most high profile advocates, and credited it with helping him overcome dyslexia and finding “inner peace.”
— Twice married — to actresses Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman — Cruise is currently engaged to actress Katie Holmes, with whom he had his first biological child, Suri, in April 2006.

NO!!!! YOU CANNOT JUST CHANGE PLANS LIKE THAT WITHOUT ALERTING US FIRST. I'm not kidding. We need time to assemble the DIS Emergency Response team in your area before you drive by, just in case. What if you drove by too close? Or what if the traffic light in front of the building was broken (which probably happens a lot there, ) and they had time to beam their rays & nab you? :( You wouldn't have known to bring foil.

It doesn't sound like you would have told your DH you were doing it, either. :furious: It could have been eleven days before we figured out what happened to you. Look what happened to Katie when she went missing for eleven days! :sad2:

I'm safe for now, I'm all the way down in Allentown, PA, way far away from the Falls. I'm down here until the 31st and there are no Suri sightings in the area. I am heading up to this huge mall in NY State on Sunday (I think it's the Palasades Mall) so maybe I'll see "the booth" there. Don't worry, I will have lots of backup! When I go to the Falls on the 2nd I will have my DH with me so I'll be safe, plus I won't miss going to the Casino for ANYBODY! Not even to take one for the team!

I think Katie is reaching out to me in my dreams! ;)

I had a dream that I organized a huge group of people and we followed Tom around on his media jags for whatever movie he is promoting. We were at EVERY red carpet protesting and demanding Katie be freed. Her mom and dad came up to me crying, thanking me for what I was trying to do.

I woke up thinking, that's not a bad idea. It would probably take A LOT of money to follow Tom around. Too bad I am not rich.

Is it weird that I can worry so much about a girl I have never met? Is it sad that the entire wrold is watching this poor girl become a NOTHING right before our eyes?

Here's another of TC & Paramount, from the aol website, you can even vote on a few polls. I'm glad this is happening, even though he will be okay - on his poorest day he will always be richer than me, at least people are seeing him for the whack-o that he is and hopefully see how crazy Scientology is.
