Oh man, when is SWA gonna open up past 8/3?????

I am going nuts here...why do they torture us like this!

I am so tempted to just get my airfare from some other carrier!!! Hurry up & open up 8/22-9/1 pleaseeeeee!!!!

I have both Southwest and Jetblue opened up on my desktop all day....I check on it at least every 5minutes or less to see if they have opened up yet ~ it's making me crazy!!!
Last time SW opened up it was on the 23rd of Feb by 11:00 am

I have errands to do but I am so afraid to leave the computer!! I really need cheap airfare in August with SW...all the other airlines are too expensive for me.

I was thinking I was the only one who has been spending the day running back and forth from my work computer to my home.
It isn't bad enough that when I hear the Ding! I run, just like the Southwest commercials. Now I am anxiously waiting for thru September 2.
I won't go with another airline, since I have enough credit at Southwest to pay for the 4 tickets that I need. Plus it is a direct flight from Philly. There aren't many that are direct. With Southwest I am there in 2 1/2 hours With the other airlines, it can be up to 6 hours.

March 17, 2005 Southwest opened up to September 12, 2005
March 25, 2004 Southwest opened up to September 13, 2004
March 13, 2003 Southwest opened up to September 8, 2003

When we go down to FL, it's usually in the fall (September October) and I recall waiting for the schedule to open up, and when it does it is warm up here. I'm not anticipating their opening the fall schedule until April or May. It seems they go on these 4 month "binges" I guess you would call them.
When we did the DCL trip last April, we purchased our tickets in December, two weeks before Christmas.
At that time I was also watching it daily because it was Spring Break season and we all wanted to get our flights together (me and my friends).
I am just surmising, but it is a scientific guess

I looked at their Reservations page and I noticed now that when you look at the list of months, March is off the list and it looks like there is room for another month or two right underneath August!

I love how we over analyze everything - like "last year at this time my right ear was itching and then SW opened up through Oct, and boy is my ear itching now". So it must be soon, right?

I just happened to get an employee of sw on my phone at work. (she was calling me for help). I told her I was waiting patiently ok, not so patiently for them to open up for Oct. booking, she told me my wait would be over soon and I didn't have that long to wait. Keeping fingers crossed that she was right.

The recent round of specials ended at midnight yesterday (Apr. 3) so if the new dates don't open up today, I would guess DEFINITELY by Thurs.

Is there ALWAYS a DING when they open the schedule? Would they do it without DINGing??? I just look for my little envelope.

As far as I know Ding!'s are separate from the regular schedule. I don't think a Ding! would indicate a change, except in sale fares.
We'll just have to keep checking

I just checked SW and the fares went from $109 (it's been $109 since the last extension) to now $124 one way Manchester, NH to MCO for any date that I checked. This really bites. If only I didn't have a credit with them. I can't imagine what the fares will start at once they release all of August.

If I want to book my SW flights to be able to take advantage of possible future fare reductions or ding fares, do I HAVE to make my initial reservations one-way each way or can I book it round trip and make subsequent changes to each leg easiliy?

something is going on with airfares...I don't fly enough to understand how all this works, but when I was checking on airfare for our January trip, AA was $935 (for 5 of us) last week, $1088 yesterday and today it is $1285

Why didn't I book it last week???? I thought I would hold out for Jet Blue but now I am regretting it

I *think* you should book one way tickets, that way if a Ding! becomes available for only one leg of your trip, you can change it. If you buy round trip tickets, then a Ding! comes up , but for only one leg, you will not be able to modify just that one leg of the trip. Does that make sense??

BTW, it's 11:03 EST, 4/4 - no change in August 3rd date - this is having an undesirable effect
