Oh Lord, More Protests

Me too, and I'm a woman. ;)

Me three.

kinda off topic, but DD and I saw Jerry Seinfeld do his stand up comedy show a few weeks back. I thought I was going to die laughing because he was making fun of those Cialis commercials. he said he didn't understand how or why the couples were hauling two big cast iron bathtubs up the side of the mountain. who has two spare bathtubs laying around? and why TWO bathtubs? didn't that defeat the purpose? :rotfl2: you would have had to been there. it was hilarious!

I think they should be scary to kids, so parents wont bring the little ones to it. I think they should stay up and stand tall!

Heck, they creep me out (but I enjoy being creeped)

We passed one of the billboards on the way to Melting Pot today...not even close to being scary, at least in the day light. Ho hum! I've seen scarier things in unflushed toilets in the Magic Kingdom.

Speaking of toilets, a FAR scarier ad is those new Charmin bear commercials where the bear's butt is covered with white klingons. Eeeeewwww! I'd much rather have to explain Blood Mary to my kid than why bears have no butt wiping skills.

I find it SAD that people these days need to complain about the stupidest things like this! I am sorry but at the age of 3 my kids were also NOT looking at billboards, now unless these MOMMIES and I use that name for them loosely, have genuises as kids that they can distinguish scary from not scary looking up out of a window sitting in a back seat in a car that is going hmmm what speed down this road or highway to comprehend it at that age....then fine! Complain whatever. LOL But I know my kids at that age would have no clue and would not care and only worried about what toy they were dropping while sitting in their car seat! Sigh I bought tickets to this because of the scare factor... also when I saw it was bloody mary I got even more excited I am hopeing they have bloody mary stuff their to scare the hell out of me and my hubby and kids aged 12 and 14 !!!

The expression on the sun's face scares me and the bear seems a bit too touchy-feely. The dog looks really fat.....like he might have just eaten a child.

Yes, The WE BARE ALL signs! Now that my DS can read, it will be interesting this Christmas. But like most posters pointed out, why would you not distract your children when driving by these signs? Tell them to close their eyes. I agree with the others that stated this world is full of things that I don't want my child to know about. But reality is they will know about it and see it. It is my responsibility to teach them the correct way to handle it so they can make wise decisions when I am not around.

The billboards around here don't need the words "We Bare All", because they really do bare all in the advertisements. We have seen it all. Naked rears and fronts. I had to learn quickly that I could not shield my son.

I think people just need a reason to complain. I bet, none of the mothers of this protests' kids even got scared of the billboard, just needed something to get in the news about. When i was a kid, i was HORRIFIED of santa clause, i know i know sounds funny, but my mom didn't go around telling the mall and department stores to take santa out did she? This is a new day and age, people just want to get on tv, in the papers, what ever, for the 2 seconds of fame.

So you were OK with the blood sucking butterfly? :lmao:

The Metro Mommies news made it to my local news down in the SW corner of the State. One of our anchors said that the group was protesting and that Universal has no intentions of taking the signs down :cool1: So Universal just got more free plugs about HHN.....:lmao:
Thank you Metro Mommies.... Maybe this year we will see no strollers, keep up the good work..... and Universal will keep up the billboards... great team work for free advertising.. and great way to get the word out that small children should not attend this event ;)

In all honesty.. the eyes are evil... I do like the HHN banner/billboards better.. I don't trust evil kid tales... OH NO.. it's Chuckie.... run .......

What is really scarry is watching segments of the war in Iraq on TV. That is real, that is really happening. They are our son/daughter, husband/wife, brother/sister being killed over there. It is not someone in make up on a screen. What do these Mommies tell their children about war? Do they pretend it doesn't ? What about the violence we hear on TV everyday, who was shot, who was killed in a car accident. That is real death. I know they can change the channel, but they cannot change the fact it is happening. :confused3 They really do need to explain fact and fiction to their children.. fact is way more scary than fiction.... and sad too...:sad2:
You cannot shield your children forever. You need to teach, I guess some just do not want to.
I wonder if they let them watch Bambi.. I am not joking. Bambi's mom gets killed.. what about Lion King with his Dad. Snow White is a very scary cartoon.. do their children watch that? I bet they do! I love Disney, but the Disney Cartoon Classics have an evil charater in every movie.. some are down right ugly looking too.. look at Urlsala.. she can scare the you know what out of a kid.. but every child loves the Little Mermaid... :scared1:

Sweetheart, my toddler attends events such as this constantly during the Halloween season. I don't know why this is such an issue with you. Halloween isn't just for "big" people.

Every Wednesday, there's an old man that stands on the corner close to my children's elementary school holding a sign that states, "Abortion kills children." They never paid any attention until the day after 9/11 and freaked....
Why???? Why does somebody called abortion want to kill us.....They were 7 and 5 at the time.

For close to 2 years, I had to patiently explain every Wednesday what his sign was about.

I didn't have to call any police, media or even stop to talk to him (although I still have days when I want to...)

Kids are not stupid and parents need to parent. It might take a village to raise a child, but a parent needs to not be the idiot leader in a closed pea pod....:rolleyes1

:rolleyes1

i think you did get creeped out in one of them........
and it was so cute!
