Oh Lord, More Protests

saw it here on the local news too. BayNews9 had something on the billboards this morning, something about a lady saying it was scary for her kids to look at it .. I didn't really catch it though.

we made the mistake of bunking in 'nice hotel' in Lumberton once on the weekend, when the nearby base peeps were being entertained my the ladies...of the night...that was scary, yet business as usual according to the night clerk.

forget the billboards, im more scared by the poster calling himself "concerned for your soul"

Well about the only reason we ever stop in Lumberton is to get breakfast at the Cracker Barrel. They have the BEST Cracker Barrel on the east coast.

I read the article yesterday and laughed. Universal is getting more free publicity by this!!! I think they need the ad to be "scary". It may show the Metro Mommies that this is not an event to take their strollers too. I for one am tired of seeing strollers at this event! Maybe since the Metro Mommies cannot read that it is not suggested for young children, Universal has decided to show them with pictures instead by doing this, it gives them the idea that gee.. maybe this event is too scarry for my child, maybe I won't go. Instead, I will write and complain that the billboard scared my child. Then by doing that, Universal, just got double the ad exposure for the price of the one billboard...
Go Universal... Metro Mommies.. stroll along... I hear there is a really not so scary party down the road....

Yes, The WE BARE ALL signs! Now that my DS can read, it will be interesting this Christmas. But like most posters pointed out, why would you not distract your children when driving by these signs? Tell them to close their eyes. I agree with the others that stated this world is full of things that I don't want my child to know about. But reality is they will know about it and see it. It is my responsibility to teach them the correct way to handle it so they can make wise decisions when I am not around.

Who knows? I guess it gives them a cause to fight against. I will be very disappointed if Universal caves.

If the billboard looks like the one that is in alycia23's siggy, then I must say it is AWESOME.

Back to the point. It's really sad how some parents sheild their children. When they finally realize that the world isn't a G-rated movie, they're an adult and screwed for life. This is just the media; of course they are going to have an in-your-face, creepy picture. It's HHN for gosh's sake!

As a parent, it is OUR responsibility to explain to our kids that things like this are NOT real, and to reassure them it is ONLY someone in makeup play acting.

I'm sure most little kids from the time they are old enough to talk know what halloween is all about. if not, they must be living in a cave or something.

They can see halloween decorations equally as gruesome in the halloween isle at wal-mart. (rolls eyes)

It is just an excuse to get attention. if they want to protest something, how about all those viagra commercials they show during prime time television?

What??? Halloween's scary??? NOOOO!!!!! Well gee... I guess me and my wee TOTer spookin' around in his stroller will just have all the fun with out all those other annoying little kiddos getting all skeerd and stuff in our way! (TIC people)

In all seriousness though, my kids have been going to haunted houses and the like since they were babies. Thye love the stuff and they're smart enough to know it's all fun and games (make believe).
