Oh Boy! Looks like a 2006 MYW discount is in the works

I don't know. Might work for some people. Won't do much for me. I never go to Disneyquest, and Pleasure Island you can walk around for free, just not inside the clubs.

Same here. We're going in Jan/Feb, so there's only a small chance it will be warm enough to do a water park. We hadn't planned on going to one. Chances are one will be closed anyway. DD will be too young for DisneyQuest, and we really don't have much of a desire to do Pleasure Island clubs. So as far as that being the offer, the only thing it does for us is give us free hopping...IMO, that's a sucky offer. Now throw in a decent room discount, and we'll talk, especially since the majority of the special dates are in value season!

Just out of curiousity though, let's say you get a 7 day pass and Disney throws in "free hopping and water plus". OK, so it would cost me an extra $59 to make a pass non-expire, and any parks days I don't use AND all the water park/plus days will never expire, is that right?

Thanks! :flower:

HLAuburn,

I'm in total agreement with you. IF the discount is just free hopping, water parks, etc... it won't mean a thing for us either. While we did get the hoppers, the rest of it we wouldn't use. Like you said, it's too cold for the waterparks, usually, and with a little one, we don't go to clubs. He's also too young for DQ. I certainly hope the discount is on the room or free dining, now that would be super!!!!

I will be very surprised if we ever see free dining again. From what I hear, it put a significant strain on the restaurants around the property, and a lot of guests left unhappy that they had to leave the parks to use their sit-down meals.

I'd expect the same thing to happen the open waterpark this time around (as there will only be one until perhaps the very end of the promotional period.)

I just subscribed to this thread so I could get the the alerts. Interested in a discount for February 15 to February 20, 2006.

Just trying to keep this thread going --- come on MYW package deal!!!!

We just returned from a fantastic trip to WDW. :cloud9: We spent two weeks there. We stayed at The Polynesian for the first week. Then over to AKL CL for the second. We had a AP, so our savings was pretty great. But our AP's expired last week. I know I can still renew it, however we do not plan on returning to WDW until late Nov early Dec. 2006.

From reading some other posts it sounds like dates after Thanksgiving 2006 are filling up already. What is the best way for me to go?

Should I book room only with a AAA discount and wait to buy my AP until later next year? We would like to get two trips out of the AP. We live out west and don't go more than once a year. OR Should I hold off booking and wait until I buy the AP and hope for the BRP to be available and dates and resorts available?

I appreciate any and all suggestions.

Angel

Anyone have any idea or suggestion ???

Other then the poster who was told by CRO to call back Nov 3 for a possible code, has anyone heard any information about a room only code???

When the fall discounts info came out a few days before there release, was the room only discount (Oct 23-Nov 23) information released about at the same time, or did it come later???

Obviously, I have ran all possible scenarios for our upcoming vacation and room only code is the best option for us. :flower:

Both the package code and the room-only code were released the same day (9/29). It seems like historically they're released the same day, or the room-only comes out a day later.

I'm curious, too, though...how do the room-only codes compare to AAA rates?

Thanks :flower:

Sorry, one more question:
When mousesavers put out the preliminiary info. on the fall package discounts, on the same day did they also give outthe info. for the room only code? Or did the room only code info. came later?

Right now, I have a room only discount (CAA) of 20% at a value resort. I have no idea if a room only code would be more then 20% off. I also have to buy a CAA membership (about 40US) to be able to use that code, therefore, increases my POP nightly rate somewhat (from 60.25/nt with tax to around 76/nt with tax).

We are going to WDW Jan 19-21 after we get off a 4 day cruise. I am so excited there is going to be a discount available for when we will be down there. :cool1: I made a rm only ressie this week. I will change to a package if I have to to get the discount. I have a question can you order a 7 or 10 day ticket even though we are only staying 2 nights and 3 days and save the extra days/water park option for our next trip in the summer if we did the no experation option? Thanks.

I know that the no expiration covers the park tickets and I would assume that it includes the "pluses" also. I'm sure another Disney nut will confirm that yea or nea.

Does anyone know if there is a min. night stay required for the package deal?
Thanks

I ran several scenarios by my travel agent, and the best rate I got for a value (All-star movies) was $85/n, tax included, (for a preferred room!) with my AAA card. I didn't use the official AAA travel agency, btw...they were quoting me outrageous rates!

Rack rate, according to this site, is $102/n plus 11% tax. Rack rates are here:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/resorts/Rack-Rates-2006.htm

My trip is from 1/31 thru 2/5. The rate was about $10/n higher with an AP discount, and about $20/n higher using the current room code (which expires in November, so it really doesn't apply).

I was going to do the AP thing until I saw how many restrictions Disney has put on them. Now I may just buy a 10 day non-expiring park hopper. The rest of the AP benefits didn't seem to be worth it to me after the hotel discounts were reduced, IMHO.

Free dining, even for one person, is worth about $30 a day.

Free park hopping is only worth about $30 for an entire week.
In 2006, dining is $37.99 per adult per day....

This new deal is featuring free Park Hopper option AND Water Park Fun & More (the Magic Plus pack) which is a value of $35 per ticket for the Park Hopping option and $45 for the Magic Plus pack option, so the value is $80 per person.

Agreed, not quite as good as the free dining, but if you normally get the park hopper and the plus pack options, theres an extra $80 per person!
