Oh, A Drunk Little Cucumber!! - F&W Fun with Bro and Sis Nov. 11*UPDATE 6/17* Pg.32

Well that makes sense now as to why we have chatted lately! I am hoping your mom is feeling better very soon....poor thing:hug:

I'm so sorry about your mom! I don't think it can be stated enough how wonderful it is to have supportive friends/family around when there are leg injuries/mobility issues (I had a serious issue with my achilles tendonitis when I was away at undergrad and it was wretched. Stairs and hills as far as the eye could see! I would've starved if not for some truly amazing friends. Okay, maybe not starved but I wouldn't have been happy! ;) ).

I've missed reading your updates so definitely looking forward to your next one!

Things have been really busy! My mom broke her leg (as many of you knew). It was pretty difficult, she needed some physical therapy and I've had to help out a lot in that area.

I hope you guys will stick with me. :)

Sorry to hear this. I hope each day finds her improving and in good spirits.

Again, I'm behind, all caught up NOW, but behind. I seriously need to work TRs and the DIS to my schedule better, because the system I'm running right now isn't working AT ALL. But loved all the updates I missed :thumbsup2 Too bad there is no mascot on this trip though :( And the fact I start catching up on the Universal updates, way to be Timmy boy, way to be lol Like it's not entirely a bad thing but Disney TR=Disney updates, but either way it was nice to get more info on the place since I REALLY want to go there to visit the HP and the ole' trio and (now I know) not eat lol :thumbsup2 to all the awesome Photopass, really need to use that option more on future trips ::yes:: Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Timmy, I am so far behind now too, I don't know how I will ever catch up. But, gotta start somewhere.

Had no idea about your mom. I hope she is on the road to recovery! So sorry to hear about her injury.

Looking forward to your next update!

She's doing much better. It's been a rough road for a while though.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom's leg!! I hope she's feeling better soon!!

She's feeling better for sure.

Still following both your reports :goodvibes and I hope your mom is doing better.

Thanks! I'm updating today. Woo hoo!

Sorry about your Mom. Prayers that she is up and about soon !!

She's doing much better with physical therapy.

Totally missed Mom breaking her leg... :crutches: Hope she's doing better...

She's definitely doing better.

Joining in! Hope your Mom is doing better!

Thanks!

I am updating today on both TR's actually. To make up for my sad absence. I know how much she needed my help and I wanted to help in any way that I can. There was a time where she couldn't even get up and down any stairs, and with the crutches, she couldn't even carry anything, so starving could have been possible for her.

Sorry to hear this. I hope each day finds her improving and in good spirits.

She's doing much better now. She's a very independent person, and this hit her more in this area than anywhere else. She's not used to having people do things for her, and she felt very helpless. She's feeling much better now though.

Hi Danielle! I'm sorry to hear about your mum and hope she's feeling better soon

She's doing much better now, thanks!

Hi guys! I'm back after my long absence and I will make a point to get caught up on everyone's TRs. Time has gotten by so quickly.

My mom is doing well. Basically, the story is that she fell down the stairs in the house and fractured her leg. She was in a brace for about 7 weeks, and has only recently been allowed to take it off permanently. She had a hard time for a while, because she's so independent. She didn't like people having to do stuff for her, but it was necessary. So, she's on the mend and has about two weeks of physical therapy left.

I will be starting a new PTR soon, so stay tuned for that. It's not a traditional one, because we're going to Europe for two weeks, but I would love it if you guys came along. We're going to Disneyland Paris for two nights and three days, so if you're interested in hearing about that, feel free to come along!

Onward!

Day 5 - Wednesday November 9, 2011

Okee dokee smokies! After our fun filled day at Universal, it was time for some WDW! Our first stop? Well, the Magic Kingdom of course!

We were out the door by 8:30am. No breakfast at Old Port Royale. No sir. We had a date with a bakery on Main Street.

We took the bus instead because I don't love driving and parking at MK. A bus came right when we arrived, so we had great timing. The rope drop ceremony had just finished when we got there.

We headed straight to that little slice of bakery heaven. We got......you guessed it......

A mutant cinnamon roll. Because really, a cinnamon roll is no good unless it comes in mutant sizes. Proven fact.

We also got....

Yummy croissant sandwich. We like sharing food sometimes, so we shared these. Very tasty indeed.

After our breakfast, we headed into Tomorrowland. Our first stop?

A mountain of course.

There was a 20 minute wait posted, but it wasn't that long at all. We waited maybe about 10 minutes.

Soon, our space chariot arrived.

We were seated in the back. It was tons of fun. It actually amazes me that this ride only goes about 28 miles per hour. It's so dark, it feels like it goes much faster.

After this, let's just say that I was still slightly bitter from having lost on Men in Black the day before. Only slightly. :rolleyes1 So, how else do you correct that?

You go defeat Chris......*ahem*.....I mean Emporer Zurg!

I saved the world.....just sayin'...

Chris.....not so much...

After I wiped the floor with Chr.......*cough*.....won graciously, it was time to go to Fantasyland to check out construction.

Coming along nicely. I tried to get a clever picture by getting on the ground and taking the picture through the crack in the wall. Well......Disney got wise, because they put up something to block it. D'oh!

Afterwards, we rode It's a Small World.....per Chris' request. For real! Riley wanted video, and we can never say no to a request from a munchkin. I won't kill you with pictures.

Belgian Girl!!!!

Frogs!

Koalas!

After that, we had to get the song out of our head. What better way to accomplish that then by going where there are 999 happy haunts.

And oh my goodness sake, look at what the iPhone 4s can catch on camera!

Such a beautiful piece of machinery WG is.

So then what would we do next? Thunder Mountain? Pirates? Splash Mountain?

Nope.

That's right. Chris and I had our inner dorks that needed to be satisfied. And this fit the bill. We both LOVE stuff like that, things like the American Adventure too (which was on the list for the trip as well). It was newer to Chris too, because he hadn't seen it since the overhaul and addition of Obama.

After we flew our freak flags high, it was time for some lunch.

Cosmic Rays was the choice for us. We both love the variety of selections.

I got my good ole standby of chicken breast nuggets.

Chris got the bacon cheeseburger. Lunch was good as always.

After this, we putzed slowly to the front of the park. We were coming back to MK another day for a nighttime visit, PLUS, we were heading to Epcot for the F&W festival that night. I had to get some rest, because we were going to do some marathon eating that can exhaust you! Plus, Chris had a headache that he wanted to get rid of before the evening.

Bye Magic Kingdom!

Up next: Wait, this is the food and wine festival.....HOW CAN YOU BE OUT OF FOOD AND WINE?!

Glad to hear your mom is doing well, it's always hard on independent people to ask for/accept help!
I can't wait for the Disneyland Paris PTR! I loved Disneyland in Paris, it was so pretty.
Yummy mutant cinnamon roll...

I'm glad to hear your mom is doing better!!

WOW that cinnamon roll is ginormous! It looks filled with amazingness!

That's too funny that Disney covered the cracks in the walls! They must kinda enjoy driving us all nuts wondering what everything is going to look like!! :rotfl:

I love Disneyland in Paris too! You're right, it's just beautiful there. I felt like I missed so much when we went in 2010, because I was so jet lagged. So, I'm happy to be going back.

I'm glad to hear your mom is doing better!!

I always laugh at the stuff Disney has, because so much of it is like completely and utterly supersized. As if we needed more food.

Glad to hear that your mum is doing better :)

Your breakfast pics are making me hungry as usual lol! Way to go on whooping Chris after the MIB defeat :woohoo: I miss IASW - may be the only person but I loved it!

Hi Danielle!!! :)

I followed you over from my TR.

I must admit that I started reading your TR this morning, but I am waaaaay back there yet. I wish I could devote more time to reading this morning, but I must get some work done while the puppy is still sleeping.

Anyways - I just wanted to say hi, and let you know I am following along. I'll try to get caught up as time permits...

I am curious how close we are as nieghbors - since you took off from the Milwaukee airport... I live on the WI border - on the MN side though.

Oh, and I did read - I am glad that your Mom is doing better. :)

D~

Soooo, I was pretty far behind, but I am all caught up now. Glad to hear that your mom is on the mend. What a great daughter she has!

Aw, the Minions are so cute! I haven't seen the movie in full, but I can still appreciate their cuteness.

Ahahaha, funny you should mentioned how you like the Simpsons ride wasn't kiddie-fied. Pretty much because we had no idea what we were getting into when we went on it and I was apprehensive about putting my little girl on it but everyone else kept reassuring me that it would be fine. They kept saying - look! It's the Simpsons, it'll be fine. I should have known as soon as I saw all the promos with the crazed clown on the loose. Oh well, now we know!

I never got to ride the Rip rock-it coaster. It was down for a majority of our trip and I took that as an omen.

And why didn't I ever see any studly men walking around Universal?

I am hungry right now and could totally see myself enjoying a yummy croissant sandwich.

Uh-oh, your teaser for the next update sounds sad. I would be sad if there was no food and wine.

Hi guys!

I am so sorry that I've been so far behind. I feel like I haven't even been able to catch up on other TRs. I will be updating soon, hopefully mid-week.

Things have been really busy! My mom broke her leg (as many of you knew). It was pretty difficult, she needed some physical therapy and I've had to help out a lot in that area.

I hope you guys will stick with me. :)

I wanted to let all of you know what a wonderful, thoughtful daughter I have. I don't know how I would have survived my broken leg without her. She has been an awesome help and I love, love her for that.:thumbsup2:love:

Had no idea about your mom. I hope she is on the road to recovery! So sorry to hear about her injury.

Looking forward to your next update!
