Oga’s - drinks to go?

We’re going to Disney World for our first trip to Galaxy’s Edge next week. I’m a huge Star Wars fan and have been looking forward to this for years. We have
a Reservation for Oga’s already. We’re both fully vaccinated but worried about the cases going up in Florida with the new variant. We’ve decided to wear masks indoors, especially in crowded areas. I hear Oga’s is really crowded again. Can we use our reservation to go in and check out the atmosphere but get our drinks in to go cups so we can wait to drink them (and take off the masks) until we’re back outside? Thanks!

I would say probably not. They serve the drinks in glass cups. And there are weird rules about taking alcohol outside of a bar even though you can drink at Hollywood Studios. I know you definitely would not be allowed to do this at Disneyland's Ogas.

Thanks! Someone mentioned in another thread that because of the 45 minute limit, they’re letting people take their second drink to go. So I thought maybe they’d allow it for a first drink too.

What about just looking around with your mask on and not ordering anything? I went to Oga’s pre Covid and they jam you in there. Definitely a better experience when they were doing 1 party per area.

Thanks! I would be fine with that too. I just didn’t want to seem like I was taking a space without paying.

I know they offered people a second drink to go. Not sure if the first is an option. Maybe they would if it frees up space for others.

I don't know why you couldn't. You certainly can at other bars in the parks like at the Mexico pavilion.

I think LaCava is a lot different in that it doesn’t require reservations and mostly serves to go drinks. Oga‘s tells you up front that you cannot walk around and look until you are ready to leave. It took us quite a while to be greeted and have our order taken to the point that my husband and I just wanted to leave. That was our particular waitress though. You could always just tell the wait staff/bartender that it’s too crowded and you want your drink to go.

That’s kind of what I’m hoping. We can just take in the atmosphere while waiting for our order to be taken, ask for the drinks to go right when we order, and then walk around to check things out once we have our drinks and then leave with our drinks. Our reservation at Oga’s is at 11am so I was actually thinking we could set up mobile order for docking bay 7 around 11:30 so that way we could have our drinks with lunch.

I’ve never gone in and got my first drink to go. But I did take a second (or maybe third) to go. The server offered… I didn’t even have to ask.

You can my bartender at Oga's asked if I wanted a drink to go and also didn't place a drink limit on me either. I could have swore they said it was a two drink limit per person. My bartender was offering me a third drink. Granted I had the blue Bantha drink and the Jedi Mind Trick drink. Maybe it's a two drink limit on alcoholic drinks.

We have definitely gotten a second drink to go, I don't see why it would be an issue with the first. Your choices may be slightly limited. For example, there's one drink that comes with a dry ice "smoke" effect in a special glass that keeps the dry ice away from you for safety purposes that wouldn't be available in a to-go cup.

Please let us know what happens… I am in a similar situation and am getting pretty anxious wondering how crowded Oga’s will be. I hadn’t thought of ordering drinks to go… great iidea!

Will do! My appointment at Oga’s is on Wednesday so I’ll report back after that.

Reporting back to say that the plan worked well! We were seated in a booth with another family. We kept our masks on the whole time. The server didn’t even bat an eye when we asked for drinks to go. We enjoyed the atmosphere while waiting and then left with our drinks onc3 we paid. There was a ledge across the way outside where we sat to finish our drinks. That area also had a lot of things to check out on the data pad app so we finished some mission while there too. All in all, it was a success!
