Offsite Travel Time to MK

HELP!!! I am having trouble determining the time I should allow to get from my offsite hotel to MK, and the best means of Disney transportation?

Here are the facts:
We - me, DH, and 3 yr old DS and DD, will be going to MK on a non-EMH day in mid-Sept
Offsite hotel is approx 10-15 mins from front gates of MK
We have an 8:10 AR at CP
Twins birthday breakfast so I want everything to run smoothly

Is the resort monorail our only means of transportation from the TTC to MK? We'd love to take the Ferry but is it running that early in the am?

How long will this take? What time should we leave our hotel?

We are staying at the Wyndam Palms Resort in Kissemmee. All of their literature quotes 10-15 minute travel time to the MK entrance. I hope they are correct!

Give youself a little extra time. It's better to be there early than to rush around with little ones. Not sure what time the ferry runs. I'm sure someone will help out.

BTW...I'm a mom of BG twins too... except mine are almost 18yo. I get to send both of them to college next year, Oh yea, and they still love Disney.

Plutolovr - thanks for your input. Twins are fun, but do require extra time for EVERYTHING!

The reason for my initial question is that we have NO experience at all with MK. I will allow extra time for the twins if someone would give me some idea of a baseline time, worst case and best case scenarios.

I need to know, on a non-EMH morning during the slow season, how much time should it take to:

- Enter the main gate, park our car and get to the tram?
- Wait for, and take the tram to TTC? (we have our tickets)
- Wait for, and take the resort monorail to MK?
- Go through security, and walk to CP?

Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to allow too little, or too much time...although too much time would be better!

Non-EMH day at MK.

You will enter and park, most likely in Minnie. You can walk to the TTC from there.

Give yourself 10 minutes from Minnie to TTC (that's more than you should need)

The resort monorail will take 10-15 minutes to get to MK (but I cannot help you with the frequency in the morning)

Security and walk at MK is about another 10-20 minutes

cranbiz - Thanks so much for your reply.

According to TGM, the main parking entrance to MK opens at 7:30am. With the timeframes you've given me, we should have no problem getting to CP for a 8:10 AR. I feel better now!
