Any recommendations?

I have the list Disney sent me- but just don't know who we want!!

We are a young couple- still debating on writing our own vows (I hate speaking in front of people so that may be a little hard for me). And we are both very laid back and looking for our officiant to be the same. We also would like a semi religious ceromony.

So- any suggestions, or anyone to stay away from?

Can you call the ones that interest you to see who might be a "good fit"? Do you have to use a Disney one or can you choose someone familiar to you and invite them as your officiant and guest?

We have requested info from several, but still would like all the suggestions as possibe, I would hate to pick someone who we ended up not liking.

If they have a website I'd suggest looking there. I know I've been able to get great ideas just for out vows searching some officiants websites. I'd also then come back with your list of possibilities and see what other brides think. Some brides have posted videos of there wedding and perhaps you could see a particular officiant and see what you think.

I highly recommend Rev. Kevin Knox. He has a whole packet he will send you with all sorts of options to build and customize your ceremony. He has very religious, non-religious and everything in between. He is also very laid back, professional, and nice. He will work with you to make any kind of ceremony you like. And his wife is a sweetheart too. Highly recommended!

We are having Rev Jack Day. To be honest with you we just picked a name at random from the list as we had no clue who to go with, all we knew was that we wanted a non-religious ceremony.

Rev Jack has been great, we basically picked our own vows from the packages he sent us.

I would say contact a few of them from the list and see which you are most happy with :thumbsup2 x

We picked Rev Tim Herring. There has been some mixed reviews about him, but when we went for a site visit we actually got to meet him (he was there before a wedding). He talked to us for about 30 mins and we really liked him! His daughter has also gotten married at Disney and he I guess has been there from the beginning of Disney weddings.

We also went with Tim Herring. My future sis-in-law got married at Disney and used him, so I was able to see him on her video actually performing a wedding. He was very nice and funny and kind. He was a little short and to the point in his emails when I started emailing him, but when I met him during my planning session, he wouldn't stop talking, lol!! Maybe he saves the conversation for actually talking as opposed to typing. :-)

We are really excited to have him for our wedding.

We had Rev. Tim too. Like other said, emails are short, but everyone (us and guests) loved him the day of. We had differing opinions on the sand ceremony since we have kids and he went with my wishes and how I wanted it to go.

Rev Tim is not technology friendly - he has 2 cell phones because he can't figure out how to use one as a phone and a calendar. So he has a flip phone for his phone, and he has a samsung touch phone for his calendar. He's great in person though, very warm and very funny. He's been with Disney since they started, and he loves doing Disney weddings. He told us some great stories when we met with him.

That said, if you want to write your own ceremony, he's probably not the one I would pick. He'll do it, but he told us point blank he's not a fan of brides writing their own ceremonies. We wanted close to traditional, so we're on board with Rev. Tim. The brides in the facebook group have all had great things to say about Kevin Knox and his wife, and Jack Day, and many of them wrote their own ceremonies.

You can use anyone you want as long as they are a officiant in a church. I went with rent a priest, yes it really exists.

We are also having Rev Tim. We went with him because we didnt want to write our own vows. As others have said he doesnt do technology. I'm sure the poor guy nearly passed out when I enquired if he had a paypal account. :rotfl:

We are using Rev. Glynn Ferguson from Sensational Ceremonies. He's waaaaay more technology friendly than the older guys on the Disney list.

I agree with Blue! We had Rev. Knox two years ago and he was fantastic :)
I am Christian (United) and my husband is Catholic. Neither of us is very religious, but we did want some religious touches especially for his family seeing as he was not being married in the Catholic church. We could pick and choose from the package he provided via e-mail.

We even chose a reading we loved, but it mentioned having children in one of the lines. We cannot have children, so we asked if he could read it and eliminate the line. I was nervous during the ceremony that he might forget seeing as he doesn't know us, but he totally remembered to omit it and didn't even hesitate when he read it :)
