Wow, that's like seventeen people just on the Teen Board! Looking good. If I get between 20-25 I might put in a request. It probably wouldn't hurt if one of you guys did too

Here's a picture of the paintingkjkcool said:Here's a poem I did on the painting Starry Night by Van Gough we had to also hear the song done on it by the dude that sang American Pie...
On A Starry Night
Restless town,
turned ignorant and accusing
by the vast, spreading darkness.
A tree, still hopeful,
in the midst of deep despair,
reaches for the heavens,
where the clouds play with the stars
that are in glorious bloom,
hoping love and acceptance dwells there.
The pure indigo sky seems out of reach,
the town shrouded in darkness tries
with all its might to suppress it .
Still, like a child, the tree continues to reach
for the brilliant, swirling cosmos above it.
Thick sadness and dispare keep pulling it back down to earth,
a bird with a broken wing.
Like its creator it is pulled between despair and hope, hope and despair.
In the swirling colors of blue, black, and grey on canvas,
Vincents struggle with the world lives on.

a bird with a broken wing."
Is the tree reaching up a "bird with a broken wing" or is it something else? Just something that stuck me.
Great poem!![]()
Thank you so much! It's like the tree represents Van Gough trying to get out of his depression and sadness to reach out for hope but never grasping it.Kinda like a bird witha broken wing thing, cause he keeps on trying...but...in the end...he kills himself so his wing never really mended.PatriotsRule said:OMG! BeachBabi0 said:one question (and im not trying to be disrespectful or anything..) but is poetry really writing? i mean, i guess that could make sense because there are books filled with poetry same as stories, but i cant help but wonder...
Or at least I like to write. lol
