Haha, my main interests are most any creative writing, but I gotta say, I ADORE satire, parodies, poems, editorials, and most anything else that I can either be imaginative or sarcasitc rofl.

I wrote about a 5 page "essay" describing what creative writing is (not technical) would you like me to explain? Basically summed up, after everything is said and done...it is what you live lol.

AHHH! My language arts teacher was explaining about creative writing, and how it's not allowed on this year's standardized test.

She was saying that, on the test, this is what has to be included, and can be as dull as anything. But the point needs to be written clearly.

A strong introduction.
Dialouge.
An ascending ( / conflict) climax.
The climax.
The resolution to the climax.

Creative writing is when . . . gosh. I don't know. I think the characteristics of the plot aren't clearly shown, and you make peoples' imaginations wander.​

I basically quoted my teacher. The main point of writing on standardized tests is to make you point clear on the x amount of pages (usually 2 or 3).

And yeah. I always making people's minds wander.

Seriously. On those tests, you can write about the most boring things, like uhh . . what's boring . . . lectures!​

Lol! But you kind of have to follow regulations, rules, blah blah blaaaaah.

I hate standarized testing. Back to reality and writing.

Goodness! The response is good! Someone asked if anyone had asked about making the board yet. I haven't yet asked anyone. I was planning on just having a Writer's thread on here for a while to get an idea of the response. If it keeps up like this, I'll probably put in a request with one of the mods.

As for people who are shy about posting their stuff, you don't have to right away. You could always review for a while before you post. I would probably primarily be a reviewer myself. Don't worry about being shy.

Sarcasm should come pretty naturally for you.

I am also up for a writing board, that would be awesome. My LA teacher is crazy about short stories... They're fun though.

kjkcool, I don't take that offensively, I take that as a nudge getting me to get into my paper!!

Eh, well, creative writing is more than using imagination and more than what you live, I think.

Creativity is the ability to take something so bold and so conformed and mold it to something that is outstanding from the rest. It is something that reflects personality, characteristics, and outlook on things...Creative writing is showing, not telling. Anyone can stand there and, for example, say "grass is green" but it is the creative person who would further that with details on some magnificently fictious formation involving only what ideas that person can conjur. It is the creative person who will step out of the box and use his or her OWN mind to make an alternate "ending" per se.

I love writing stories. I started writing stories when I was in 3rd grade. In 3rd grade my first "book" or story that I wrote was called "The Lost Cat" Where my cat Bambi, was stolen by someoneone. My other cat and I both were fighting to get her back. It was a mystery type of book. When I was in day care that year the teacher loved reading all my "books." I should try to find one of them.

Sure! I enjoy writing poems and short stories. I'm thinking of a longer love story based on some stuff in my life... It'd be like a "Dear Diary" story. I'td help so much to write it out.
