In my opinion, NO. Not doable. Go on Friday to save yourself the hassle and stress.
I agree. Try to pickup on Friday due to the kids race.

Yes. You can absolutely drive to the Animal Kingdom for the 5K. There will be nobody at the toll plaza, so there will be no parking fee. You do have the added benefit if you drive to leave anything in your vehicle that you will not run with.
Please remember that they are inspecting everything upon entrance to the start area. Not just bags and back packs. During Dopey and the Princess, they were directing, "If it has a zipper or a pocket, this line. Nothing to inspect, walk through."
We will all be post race this time in 2 weeks.

Anyone see photos of the t-shirts yet?
a) I am thinking I will have to walk to front of a boardwalk area hotel and catch a cab.
I will not be attending post race party. I plan to watch from Beach or Yacht Club areas until daughter passes and then head back to Old Key West. How do I get to OKW?

b) Saratoga Springs is the closest host resort. If i took a bus to SSR, I would somehow need to get to the front of Epcot to catch SSR bus and then walk from SS to OKW.
c) Or catch DTD bus from Beach Club then switch to an OKW bus one I arrive at DTD.
I am all for adventure, but my concern is that I will be alone and it will be 1:00 - 2:00 a.m.
And you runners thought you had all the problems!
Without entrance to Epcot, you will have a heck of a time getting to the bus area.
Question... If I go for a quick change/shower after I run the 1/2 marathon (staying at Boardwalk), will they let me back in to the post race party?

We do the same...I worry if I go back to the room the bed may be too tempting and I never make it back!We have stayed at the Boardwalk or Beach Club the last 3 W&D races and I pack a change of clothes in my checked bag along with a wash cloth and hand towel. I can clean up in one of the bathroom stalls and change clothes without having to go back to my room. This probably saves me about an hour of time.

Hey guys, just looking for a little advice here.
I've been feeling pretty lousy for the last 3 weeks (haven't been able to do much training) and yesterday I was diagnosed with mono. I know strenuous exercise is a big no-no with mono and my doctor told me that I'm not allowed to train until she gives me the go ahead. That being said I am so incredibly frustrated. I'd been training well up until I got sick and could comfortably go 5/6 miles. Also, I had finally been feeling better and more energized and ready to get back into running before I suddenly started feeling sicker and went to the doctor. Now I'm worried that I won't be allowed to run for weeks and that once I am cleared I won't be able to get to the level necessary to run the half.
Have any of you ever been derailed by mono when training for a big race? How long before you were cleared to run again? Any tips?
I know it's a possibility that I might need to defer my race entry until next year, but I really only want to do that as a last resort (even if it means a really slow half).
I'm ridiculously excited about this half marathon - it's going to be great! This is, however, my first time to run Disney. How about those of you who have run the Wine & Dine before share some tips? Think about what you wish you had known before you ran the W&D half... and let us know what insight you've gained through the School of Experience!

I wish I'd known about the big grassy field, dancing and the pre-race wait. I've run this alone twice and then once with my sister. Having someone to hang out with pre-race made the time go faster.
It's such a FUN course! And the finish is awesome through Epcot! Definitely stay for the party!
That's all I've got.
