Official Wine & Dine 2014

It's just bizarre that the people for whom those days were part of their "plus 10" had already booked up the entire restaurant. But I've read over and over that BOG holds back bunches of reservation times until a few months into the 180, so keep on checking.

I got a BOG reservation at 180 days out, but it wasn't a great time. I periodically checked and a few months later got a 6:30 dinner ADR. So keep checking - they do open up!

I'm going to call rundisney tomorrow, but I'm curious if anyone has booked their hotel/package lately and knows if any Epcot area resorts still had rooms available at a discount for the race... Fingers crossed we can still get in at the yacht club, but I'm worried we waited too long.

There wasn't too much available a month ago. We also decided to make the trip as cheap as possible. Nothing available through DVC, Yacht and beach club not available through RunDisney or through Disney. Boardwalk had some a available. I would also check AAA and Expedia for options. You won't know until you start looking.

We are staying at OKW and had just planned on going to SSR to get the bus. Will probably cab it back after the finish line party though.

I keep thinking of getting over to another resort in the early morning, forgetting that it's not in the morning. That there are a variety of ways we could do just what you're doing, even when it's still daylight if we worked out what we could do with our time at SSR, because it wouldn't be horribly early in the morning.

Thanks for your thoughts!

For all those looking for new tunes ...Disney released an album lately Dconstructed...it's mixes of Disney tunes ...I love it for running too.

Yay! Got a Be Our Guest reservation online this morning for 8:15 pm on Sunday November 9th! Stayed awake until Midnight and the site wasn't working. Then today at 6 am the phone line didn't work but I tried the site again at work around 9:15 am and ta da!

I'm so excited to be starting my planning! Does anyone recommend a plan of action for race day?

I've been going to Disneyland for my whole life so I was very at ease when I did my first half this January for Tink Half weekend.

Now an evening race! I had no idea where to begin and I haven't even booked the hotel yet! (planning to stay at Art of Animation).

I'm planning which days for which park and I was thinking of just catching the shows at Hollywood studios and then lunch at Brown Derby or wherever has great carb loading vegetarian options on raceday! :) Does that sound ok?

Brown Derby has one veggie meal, the tofu coconut noodle bowl. It's a Thai flavor dish, almost always VERY good, but if you have a delicate stomach it might not be the best thing to eat before the run.

You people getting BOG reservations....I'm checking at totally wrong times, apparently!

You might try Mama Melrose. They have a few veggie and pasta options. If I remember correctly, most of their pastas can be made vegetarian (not sure about vegan).

Finally booked our room for the weekend, but run Disney rates were basically gone at all the deluxes. I hope the weekend isn't going to be too insanely busy...

Just an update- I had already purchased a 7 day park hopper from the online ticket store with the wine & dine discount. I was indeed able to buy an annual pass and apply the value of the 7 day towards the total cost. :) I had to do it at guest relations.

Just curious, how long did it take to get tickets in the mail after you ordered them?

that's pretty awesome that they let you do it. :)

We tried while we were there during the event, so maybe that had something to do with why they said no. We tried at guest relations at Epcot.

So glad it worked out!:goodvibes

CynthiaRebeca I can second TJAinNE. I have eaten vegetarian at Mama Melrose several times and I think they do a good job. :)

Did they apply the discounted price or the full price of a non-discounted ticket? I'm assuming you did not activate it? Glad to hear it worked for you!

They applied the discounted price towards the purchase of the AP. I had already linked it to MDE but hadn't tried to use it (I think the valid dates were nov 1-17). I waited for over an hour in line at epcot guest relations and it took the CM another 40mins to get it straightened out but it was worth the wait :)

Thank you so much! I was contemplating booking a reservation at Brown Derby so now I definitely will but I'll take your advice and save it for a non-race day! :) I'm sorry about the reservations, it shouldn't rely on luck as much as this and it's so nuts how fast they are gone.

Thank you both! I will definitely check Mama Melrose out if we're wandering nearby while at Hollywood Studios! :)

I think for race day since it's whole new territory for me I will keep it simple to a large breakfast at the Art of Animation cafeteria style restaurant and load up on the Mickey Waffles for brunch, tons of water, and bananas/luna bars for the rest of the day while lounging around the Cars pool (Cars Land is Amazing, I hope Hollywood Studios will be getting it)!
