Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

Not exactly the course I was hoping for but it is something different and at least we know what it is now. Was certainly hoping for World Showcase since it is the Wine & Dine.

Do we know what "Conservation Way" is in AK? It doesnt look like the backstage road from the 5k to me.

And seriously we go through AK for wine and dine. Like really. They better really step up course entertainment on those stretches. They can't expect us all to be ok with this race when it has issues every single year!

And the 10K is the same as WDW/Princess. Which is funny since they just did that blog post about all of the thought/work that goes into designing the courses...not as much work when you just use the same one over and over, I guess.

Not going through World Showcase is a missed opportunity, for sure.

Comparing this map with the Dark Side map the first thing that I notice is that they are not doing the dirt trail out of WWoS, at least.

I will say though, AK is my favorite park to run through. Very serene and beautiful.

Those of you that have done this before (so NOT me!)....can you send the stuff you buy at the Expo back to your room and head straight to the Parks from Expo? Or are the Expo buses only for passing back and forth from Expo to Resorts? No buses to any parks from the Expo...so we'd have to return to a resort anyway to get a bus to the park?

Buses from expo to resorts only.

What's with the weird loop between miles 10 and 11? I hope they have something there to prevent cheaters...

Edited for poor map reading skills...its the ramp. Lol.

I like the 10k route but I'm only doing the half and it looks not that much different than a road race I could do at home. It's my first rd race so I'm sure it'll be fun anyway just a bit bummed at the loss of all the resort running with dhs and the boardwalk being gone. And that down and back is weird.

I didn't even notice that one at first - yes, super weird. And bummed about no boardwalk and DHS. :(

I'm sorry for everyone disappointed with the courses - especially the half. I was afraid of something like this when they did away with the night race to add another challenge.

The 10K course is one of my favorite RunDisney courses, though, so there's that ...

Well.... poo. Perfect opportunity to toss in a little jaunt around WS and instead they give us Bear Island and World Dr. :crazy2: I was waiting to see the course before deciding whether to approach the half for a PR in fun or for time. As long as they're giving us ample highway time to spread out, time it is!

AK is a nice park to run through, I agree but stick with the theme of the race! The course seems to directly contradict the recent article that talks about course planning. Seems like with a little more thought they could have incorporated World Showcase and avoided that short out and back at mile 6. I hope they have something fun up their sleeve for that location!

I think that is the off ramp from World Dr. to Epcot Center Dr.

Course is fine to me...more exciting than running at home so I'll take it! I like Bear Island Rd in the marathon & going by the golf course, they usually put entertainment out there.

Got my 13 (what I'm maxing out on for long runs) in this morning with just a nagging tight left calf and right glute/hip on any hills, otherwise it was grand even in the mist & clammy wind we had.
