Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

wow!! well that was one stressful afternoon!
first just want to say THANKS!! to Ariel.. without your link I would have never gotten in. RunDisney totally froze on me.
This is the first time ever registering.. so at first I didn't know that "on hold" didn't mean "sold out" quite yet. so I just kept refreshing and hoping for the best.

Me and my mom wanted to sign up to do the 5K together.. that was the original plan for W&D weekend. Then the 10K was announced and I KNEW I just had to do that one also (solo). When it came time to register today I took a gamble and registered for the 5K first so I knew me and my mother could do it together. I would have felt awful if I got the 10K, then couldn't get into the 5K.. so I took my chances. Well 5K went smooth, and my mom got in on her end for the 5K. Then it was time for the 10K and I see "ON HOLD" well low and behold I start balling. MAN was I upset. I guess I didn't really realize how much I really wanted to run the 10K. It is a personal goal of mine. I never ran more than a 5K. so refresh, refresh, refresh.. along with lots of tears and curse words and BAM I got in :love:
that was 3 hours ago and I still have a headache from the stress :headache:

But so very happy I got in!!!

Hope everyone else had good luck

Thanks, everyone, for being so helpful through this process!

Got in right at noon, was able to sign up myself and my sister for Lumiere. Had forgotten my login, which sent me into a panic for a moment, but finished just in time to go teach my class!

Now, to officially make plans...

My friend and I both got in for the half! Catching up on the thread while I have lunch. Will order my merch tonight after the gym.

Now that reg is done I can look forward to my 12k on the 17th.

Just wanted to add my thanks to those who posted links for registration! It definitely helped me out.

I have a question about the kids races - are the ages for the distances a guideline or set in stone? My son will be a month shy of turning 4 and I think he'd rather do the 200m dash than the 100m dash. Is that something he can choose, or does he have to stick to the 100m since he'll still be 3?

Done finished! In and out in 10 minutes for the challenge and 5K. I booked a few months back for board walk as a back-up for our September vacation plans, but it looks like this will not only be my first runDisney event, but my first solo trip too!

Hour one done and nothing sold out yet.
WHAT?!?!?! Didn't it start at 12:00 Eastern or 9:00 Pacific? I tried to log in to register before heading to work but I couldn't... too early. I arrived to work at 09:10 PDT and tried to sign up. I was forced to wait for an "online registration" line for about 10 minutes. By the time this line was up, both the half and the 10K were sold out, only the challenge was available. I had not planned on doing challenge, especially because it is no longer a night race, but it was the only thing available. On another computer, I was trying to sign up for my wife who couldn't be at a computer to register. She definitely did not want the challenge, only the half. I was going going to try to sign her up for challenge anyway but before I could, it was sold out. This was now 09:40 PDT (12:40 EDT). Heck, even the 5K was sold out too!

They don't check the ages anywhere, it's an honor system so if you want to say he's 4, then so be it. There are so many kids, I don't think it really matters of he's one month shy.

Things were on hold but not officially sold out yet.

I'm not going to lie and say he's 4, I just didn't know if the ages were a guideline or a requirement. When he did the 100m dash in January, there were some tiny little ones, obviously just walking, and my 3-year old is FAST! I was so worried he'd knock them down or hurt them by accident, I thought he'd do better with the 200m dash and the older kids. But I guess that can wait until Marathon Weekend in January when he will be 4.

Ditto to the thoughts above... The experience and knowledge from everyone has been very helpful to me over the past week. W&D will by my third rD event, but this was the first in which we registered ourselves.

Thanks to all, and I'll be sure to pay if forward...

I am so disappointed, I was looking to do my Coast to Coast and got hung up at work. got on at 4PM and all the Half Marathon and 10K spots were sold out. I guess I get to save my $200.00 but man I can not believe that it got sold out that fast. They must have had more challenge spots. I guess I will have to go out to Anaheim at some point again....

My friend and I got in for our first runD 1/2 ever....yay....I feel like I already ran miles this morning just from the stress of registering!!!
Do we have a couple of days at least to decide on post race tickets for family that isn't running or do you think those will sell out sooner than that? Does anyone have a good guess on when those might be sold out?
