Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

I'm still on the fence, we might just let the kids do the kid's races this time. Does anyone know if they open the kid's race for AP registration and if they sell out quickly? And of course I have to chaperone DS's field trip tomorrow. I'm hoping I can depend on DH to get it done.

No, but I think I might have a terrible stomach ache next Tuesday... :cool1:
Oh no!!! ;)
I do! My coworkers know not to bother me from 11:45AM to 12:30PM on Race Sign Up Days or risk um something.
"or risk um something" - LOL!!

Yep, kids races are part of early registration. I'm not sure how early they sell out, though, since I don't have a kiddo of my own.

But as with all early registrations, there are a very limited number of spots available (I've heard it's like 5-10% of the total number of registrations for each event) so I'd expect it, and whatever other events they decide to have during this weekend, to fill up quickly tomorrow.

And for what it's worth...they've taken ALL of the distances off of the Active.com site for Wine & Dine, but it's still listed as running 11/2-11/5 (runDisney.com still has it as 11/4-11/5).

I've been sleuthing and pondering and rumoring with the best of them in my running group... my thought? They can do ANYTHING to this race weekend and it'll sell out, lol! I'm taking nothing off the table at this point. ;)

BTW the Atlantic Hurricane Season runs through Nov. 30. Early Nov. isn't typically a busy time for storms, but is still within the window of increased probability. I doubt very much that alone would be reason to move the half to a morning race, since TOT was an evening race in the prime of hurricane season, but it could maybe be one of many factors being considered.

Do kids need their own Active account too for Kid Race signups or can that be done through my account? Thanks!

TRUTH. We are at their mercy. :faint:

Nope, you should be able to register a kiddo under your account. Adults need their own accounts.

Well listening to Kimberly Markey on the marathon show with Eddie McCoy Active told her that kids need their own account too. She wasn't very happy with that.

You could be right, but I don't think that is how they have done recent registrations. :confused3
I don't believe my mom had to create accounts for my sisters for marathon weekend so you should be okay doing it on your own account but it caused Kimberly problems from what I heard.

This is what I see in my account when I go to register for the Disneyland Half Marathon (most recent rD registration). So it's making it look like I can register someone under age 18 through my account...having said that, it's entirely possible they could change this for Wine & Dine. :confused3
