Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

Somebody on the Wine and Dine Facebook group said they emailed RunDisney about the course and got a response that they're "still determining" it. Am I the only one who doesn't believe this? I'm hoping they're just saying that a response while the event guide is being put together, because it would be very concerning if you don't have a course finalized less than 4 weeks before an event.

Anybody else notice:
If you view the runDisney site on Microsoft Edge: under events: the Lumiere's Challenge and 10k links are broken

If you view using Explorer: the links work.

And... that the site says under Lumiere's Challenge:
Champion® Short-Sleeved Tech Shirt in Women's or Men's Cut for the Half Marathon, 10K and Challenge*

Under the 10k and 1/2 banners, the shirt is listed as Long-Sleeved, but under Lumiere's it is Short-Sleeved. :confused3
I did notice that recently about the shirts. I highly doubt that some would be long sleeved and the challenge shirt would be short, so I'm sure they'll still be long sleeved like they have in the past since 2 of the 3 say that.

Come on now. That's a bit harsh. For instance, I learned that people who pay a premium for a Disney race experience like to run through Disney parks! I would never have known, otherwise!
You also learned about some fitness tracking device that is NOT a FitBit.

Very true.

In other breaking news: sun to rise in the east tomorrow.

Must admit I found that whole email ODD. "Click here for no info", basically... :confused3

On a different note, my work subsidizes Fitbits for employees and their families as part of a health initiative. Then they run seasonal challenges where you get points for steps taken and earn health insurance premium discounts based on meeting those point totals. Let me just say that doing a step challenge while training for a marathon is hilarious!

Thanks for the info! I definitely missed the part about them mailing the gift cards. I just assumed we'd get them at packet pickup. Oops!

Getting a little close...

Last year, at W&D, they had 2 runDisney stores: one in each building. We did not attempt to shop at the one where you get your bib. Anybody know if in the past the merchandise is the same in both (I assume it is)? Thoughts on which one may be less chaotic?

I was just thinking I should try and find last year's thread for W&D, and see what the link was for the waivers. Then, we can try to reverse-engineer it. I think it was via the results page on Active?

Usually, the shop on the 2nd floor when you pick up bibs is less crowded, but is smaller so may not have every item. The larger main merch area where you pick up shirts is more crowded and has the full array.

The one in the bib building has a smaller selection than in the merch building, but nothing different.

Yes please! Did anyone else get the Stride email from RunDisney today and for a brief moment think maybe we'd get some info?

I got the email and only skimmed the title and was surprised that I didn't get any notifications that there were new replies to this thread, for surely someone would be posting about the course. Fail.

Question about the expo strategy. I probably won't be able to get there until around 12:30 or 1:00 on Thursday. Should I go to the merchandise area first and then get my bib and shirt? My one dream must have item is an I DID IT shirt for the 10k. Thanks for any suggestions. My first 10k and first RD event.

Last year we got to the expo around 3 because we drove in and they had limited sizes in the I Did It shirts available. (Which I decided worked to my advantage since I didn't actually run a half after all last year...) But I would head straight to merch so you have the best selection possible because your bib isn't going anywhere.

Such a tease!

I hadn't noticed that, but it sure does say short sleeved for the challenge!

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but it works (however, there is no 2016 in the drop-down list yet):

That'll work - thanks!

IDK - this year's marathon course wasn't certified until, what - a week or two before?

Looked at Princess board. Bib numbers on Feb. 2nd. Weekend started Feb. 18th. May have to wait until Tuesday.
