Official Wii/DS Q/A thread. FAQ in first post! Game reviews in second post!

It means you have updates available to download. Without looking at my wii settings, I'm not positive how you change that, but you should be able to find it in the settings menu. Someone will come along with more detailed instructions.

I can't remember how to turn it off either, but it's in the instruction manual.

april 2nd....no reviews on this game yet, but my bet is that it's simply another ddr game with disney songs instead of pop songs.

That really looks like it would be a lot of fun!

But I am really looking forward to the Toy Story Mania 3D game for the Wii!!!!!

Does anyone know if you can pre-order that one yet and from where?

Maybe when I go to Disney World this Sept. I could pre-order it there, just a thought...

Just bought a Wii this weekend and just noticed this thread. Good timing as I'm now game shopping - but renting first at Blockbuster or borrowing from a friend first when possible. :thumbsup2

Wii Fit is next.

Stores don't typically pre-sell games like that--only the big time, more adult stuff. But your best bet would be to check Amazon, TRU or Game Stop.

Why would you pre-order the game in WDW? Most of the time you have to pick the game up where you pre-ordered it...

That's to bad.

Well Disney World does pre-orders for lots of things and they will ship it to you! And sometimes they give you a free gift for pre-ordering things ahead of time. And of course since they have the Toy Story mania 3D ride at DHS, it would make a lot of sense to push the game and let people know about it!

Thanks for explaining that! :thumbsup2

Honestly, if a game is not pre-sold, the chances that it will be hard to find during that first week of launch are slim to nil. They usually WAY over produce games like the one you're looking for...I wouldn't worry about it. If pre-ordering from WDW is no more than buying in a store, I would go ahead and do it, but I would definitely not pay anymore to ship it...

New to Wii. Bought it this past weekend. Picking up a Wii Fit tonight on hold at GameStop.

Question about batteries & the rechargable stands. We have tons of rechargeable AA batteries here already that we use for digital cameras and GPS. I can just use those in the game controllers & in the wii fit, right? I don't need to be buying regular AA after regular AA or any special rechargeable gadgets sold by wii, right?

Its the regular Duracell rechargeables you get a Walmart. Duracell 2650 mAH. (side says AA / HR6 / DC1500 NiMH / 1.2V)

thanks.

Also, i hear the wii fit slides on the floor & people recommend a yoga mat, but I image they have hard wood floors? Will I have the sliding problem on wall to wall carpet?

We have used re-chargeable AAs for over a year with no problem. Like you, we already had several sets from other devices like a camera.

Our Wii Fit is used on carpet and we haven't had any troubles with slipping. Try it first, and if it slips, then you can get any old yoga mat.

Beatles for RB does not do anything for me, sorry.

Is there a list of the games coming out that the new motion sensor will be used for?

I have seen alot about the EA Sports Active or whatever it's called, I wonder though how good it will be w/out the balance board? I don't really want to buy the board but alot of fitness games are utilizing it. Does anyone have a fitness type game only that they are using w/out the board?

Also what would be a deal breaker to get the new DSi? The camera's don't excite me, there is no adapter to use old GBA cartridges (although I dunno how many we have since we traded all or most in) so the GH on tour won't work, no one is into online playing, so I guess we don't need it.

No, NO list yet...but expect ALOT of games to use it especially sports.

Not into the fitness games...but I think most of them realyy focus on gameplay with the board.

Even I who owns every nintendo system...can't see a reason to buy the Dsi...this will be the first Nintendo system I haven't owned since day 1 of it's release sicne the Super Nintendo. It really is a slight upgrade from the dslite.

I'm not sure if this has been covered or not, so I'm sorry if it has. I have a question about the Wii and the internet channel.

We have one home computer, and I use K9 as a filter on it so I can restrict sites and monitor usage. But now DS13 got the internet channel on the Wii and I am wondering how to use controls on it. I've searched Nintendo and I've googled for answers, but the only thing I can find is how to not allow internet at all. I'd like to let him use it but use controls like we have on the main computer.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

We rented Wii Mater International, of CARS the Movie. It is fun, fun, fun, to Play!!! It uses the wiimote and the nunchuck!

This is one our Purchase list.

DH says there is no way to filter the browser for the Wii. But it's so horrible to use, I highly doubt he would want to anyway. Just shut it off and keep him on the PC. (Try it first if you want, but it's barely usable.)

Sorry!

We have Wall-e for the Wii but have not figured out how to play it very well. It makes my head spin watching Wall-e move through the game! Any tips if anyone else has this game would be greatly appreciated!!

We've found trivial pursuit is a very fun party game, you can play teams or if you have the remotes, up to 4 can play

It's too bad he spent Wii points on it. I think he's finding it as you said, too difficult to use. That's good as far as I'm concerned, since I can't use a filter on it I was going to have to not allow it.

Thanks for checking!

I was wondering about something.
Why is it that some games are on the Wii Shop Channel in the U.S but not the UK?
There is this game called Lit (I think):confused3
Which I really want.
Is there any news if it will come out over here?
Thanks
Sarah xoxo
