Super Paper Mario - played it, beat it, loved it!! I love this paper mario more then I did paper mario for the gamecube. Flipping from 2D to 3D is very easy and very cool. The entire game is really good. Dont give up on it yet! You WONT be disapointed.

Whats everyones opinions on Super Paper Mario for Wii? I got it for $40 the other day but after reading reviews I am not so sure. It would be for DD who is 7. If there is alot of reading she gets bored with it all, she would rather play, play ,play!

Sarah - have you played MySims? I am not looking to buy any other games for Christma (they are also getting Guitar Hero III) but they were demo'ing it at the mall this morning and it looks cute.

As DH said, I have not played it, but I still think it looks fun. We just have too many other games! From what I understand it is more like Animal Crossing that regular SIMs games, which makes it better for kids, but not as deep as the other games.

I bought Mario Party 8 and Mario & Sonic Olympics but now I am thinking maybe I should exchange the Mario Party 8 for Mario Galaxy. What do you guys think is the best one?

I think Galaxy is the better game, but it depends on your family. If you only want games you can all play together then Galaxy won't work. If you want the best game on the system that is great for ages 6+ to play by themselves, then go for it.

So, question... will we be able to use the Wii on X-mas day with the sports pkg and 1 controller? My in-laws (they are more confused than me) got the Wii and Guiter Hero so do we need to take a remote to their house so we can all play?

You will be able to play with what you have, but you'll have to take turns playing single player. You won't be able to play against each other in all of the games. I think there is an option to just pass around the controller for Golf and Bowling.

Yes, take your remote to the in-laws. That way they can play Wii sports against each other. Guitar hero will have to take turns with just the one guitar.

Yes, a 3 yo can play some Wii games, especially the sports games. Just make sure the strap in on his wrist tightly. I don't think there is anything he'll be able to play without some help as far as reading goes, but he can play with the family.

Oh yes, its actually a approriate game for any age. My newphew who is 2, loves watching me play. So if hes 2, and loves watching me play, theres no doubt your girls are to young. Zelda Twilight Princess is a VERY good game. One of my favs for Zelda. But its really depends on what your girls like. Do they like playing games like Zelda? If they havent tried it, go somewhere like to gamestop, and see if they have a playable demo of it. If not, then rent it first and let them try it out. Not everyone is gonna like Zelda. So it would be better off for them to try it. Fishing & fighting are very fun. Riding Epona is a lot of fun to. The graphics are one of the best Ive seen on the Wii so far, besides Super Mario Galaxy.

Zelda is rated T for Teen. A 2 yo might like to watch the game, but they are not going to be able to play the game. If you think killing monsters with swords and some other minor stuff is apporiate for whatever age you have then go for it. But in order to actually play the game with any success the child has to be able to read pretty fluently.

And where would I find this friend code?

I think it's your serial number. DH always handles this one. He'll be around later I'm sure (he's on Christmas break from teaching, so he's got nothing better to do )

To play Zelda all you need is basic reading skills. Theres no big words in there that a child wouldnt understand. And please dont say that a 2 yr old cant play. My newphew CAN play video games (on the Wii) including Zelda. He even can play Excite Truck really well. He's not good like a Teen or an adult is, but he can still play. He has riden Epona succesfully, he has managed to kill a couple monsters. His life and gameplay might not last long, but he can still play it. Zelda might be rated for Teen, but IMHO, if you can play the game and like it and theres no bad language or shooting people with guns, its OK to play at any age.

Go to you wii messageboard. at the bottom there are a few buttons. Click the one that says, register friend, or not pad or something like that...it's not to hard to find. On the first page of the pad is your Wii Id Number(No it's not the serial number as the dw tried to suggest)

This is the number that anyone of your friends will have to registure on thier wii before you can play directly against them(or send messages). nintendo does this for internet safty of children. Once the fried imputs your code and you imput theirs (both people my imput the others code before play is possible) you will be able to play certain games and send messages and mii's to those other people.

I'm looking for something for boys ages 11-13, you know like Mario Galaxy is for single player or Mario Party for multi player but for the DS not Wii. Most of the games come out in both formats and of course my kids would rather play on the tv than the small screen DS. We haven't bought them everything they've asked for the Wii there was just too much. Plus with Super Smash coming out in Feb hopefully they'll get some gift cards to use for that one. And Pokemon doesn't count as they aren't interested in it.

I do not think Zelda is okay to play at any age and neither does the ESRB. I think it's fine for kids 6 and up, but that just my opinion, just like it's your opinion that a 2 yo can play.

My definition of playing Zelda is not riding on Epona and killing a couple of monsters. I'm telling parents that have no idea what Zelda is that the ESRB says x, I think y, make your own decision. I think very many parents would be mad if I told them that their 2 yo can play Zelda and then they find out what the game is and how much they can actually play after spending $50 on it.

I do my best to give people general information and point them in the direction for more, so they can come to their own conclusions. If I didn't everyone would get mad at me and this thread would've died a long time ago.

So sorry, a 2 yo cannot play Zelda in the way I think of it. I would not buy Zelda with a 2 yo in mind only. I would let them TRY it, but I know they can't really play it the way it is intended.

A 2 yo can definitely play Excite Truck. They may actually make it to the end of a race.

DH really likes Brain Age 2 but again we already have that, I'm looking for something new.

If you own the Wii game how different would it be to own the same title for the DS? Like Madden 08 or My Sims or Playground? I don't want to just spend the money for the game to collect dust if you know what I mean.

Yep he is 100% right...once Smash is out he can play against them online(and others world wide) As of right now he can A) send messages and Mii's to them B) Play a game of Call of Duty, Madden 08, Pokemon Battle, and Mariop Strikers. Other agmes ar on their way...the next 2 big online titles will be Smash Brothers and Mario Kart.

Dragon Warrior Monsters: Rocket Slime is really fun too--that might have been from last year.

I agree that Zelda isnt for everyone. I said that in a earlier post. I was just stating that you said that a 2 year old couldnt play, and I was just simply telling you that a 2 year old CAN play. Like I said, he cant play like I can, but he does play it. Weither or not he plays the entire game or just 5 minutes, hes technically still playing it. He might not be able to play the hard stuff in the game right now, but at least I know when he gets older and knows how to play these kind of games better, he will be interested in Zelda, in this game and he would already know how to play parts of it, cuz he played those parts before. Yes, if I had a 2 year old, I wouldnt buy it with him only in mind. For starters I wouldnt be able to do that, cuz I would be buying the game for the entire family. But if I had a 2 year old and he wanted to play Zelda, would I let him? Of course I would. In my opinion, theres nothing in that game that isnt suitable for a young person to play it. Only real reason why its rated T is because of the violence / fighting.

They loved nintendogs when that first came out but haven't played it much lately. My youngest likes Zelda and one of the Sims games, the one with the Alien. I'm kinda thinking maybe Spectrobes for him. The older one loves anything sports so he's more difficult and he prefers playing them on the tv not the DS so I think his DS is more for DH and I to play with and let him borrow it occassionally.

I don't know maybe I'll just pass on DS games for now.

I didn't see much on that list and I had searched and looked at lots of reviews over at ign earlier today. We'll see if anything gets my attention shopping this weekend.

Thanks for the update! Sounds like Nintendo's legendary customer service might be slipping a bit. I think it's weird how the companies send the systems to other companies for repair (I know Microsoft does it too).

Very Upset. Got the Wii back today and they didn't fix it. It still will not eject a disk. This time, I tried "Wii Sports" because if it didn't eject, I figured my girls could at least play that one vs. Call of Duty. Glad I at least did that, so there's something to wrap and a few sports games to play.

I called Nintendo and kept saying, "I'm not technology illiterate. Surely, if I push the button that says, 'eject', the disk should come out. Right? I mean, I have CD players, DVD players, VCRs and when I push 'Eject' something happens." Anyway, the CSR was now saying that they have had problems with their East Coast repair company in East Syracuse, NY. The company is United Radio. Evidently, this is a reoccuring problem that Wii's are returned without being repaired by this location and I was told by the Nintendo CSR that all Supervisors are automatically involved now with a reoccurring issue from this facility. Nintendo is sending out a console replacement now that is labeled shipping "Red", which they stopped short of saying "overnight". The Nintendo rep wouldn't guarantee the replacement in time for Christmas, but tried to be optimistic. The new console will not have the "Wii Sports" disk, so he said that when I returned the broken console, they would remove the "Wii Sports" disk and send it back to me. He tried to ease the frustration by throwing in 4 free remote skins.
